OOH CANON SPECIES NICE i have so many fun facts to share that i have learned after 2 years straight of kinning this fucking bug
-our home planet was indeed called Dokar and other aliens called us Dokarians but we called ourselves Zorathians. its like the difference between Earthling and Human, basically.
-yes i was a Zorathian named Zorak. you ever met a person named Guy before? moving on
-we evolved from creatures very similar to Earth insects (especially mantids and grasshoppers) but over time as our brains enlarged we lost a few key features. our wings became vestigial imprints on our abdomens and we only had 4 limbs total–no extra arms hiding anywhere.
-Dokar was a hot and humid planet, and we were cold-blooded creatures. I always preferred a toasty climate, which I believe was an early point of comraderie between me and Moltar.
-Speaking of blood, while we were very much bugs externally, internally our vascular and respiratory systems were more... reptilian-ish? it was the only way we could survive at our size; there's a reason 6ft dragonflies aren't around anymore.
-We didn't exactly live in hives or anything, but we were a bit of a social species. We had cities and schools and local government. The way this interacted with our instinctual proclivity towards cannibalism was interesting. Since it was practically involuntary in certain situations, it was seen as legally distinct from murder and therefore not a crime. It was still considered very rude to do it outside of those scenarios, though, like smoking in a crowded bus shelter or pissing on somebody's doorstep. Sure, you were responding to a bodily need, but right now? And right here? It was just sort of a fact of life that if you were unlucky, at any moment you could be devoured by a stranger. Or, more likely, by your mom (we didn't have dads. I'll give you one guess why)
Would you believe it if I said there was even more. I'll cut myself off here though. Thanks for reading all that, un-thanks if you didnt, -Zorak (#🛸🎹💥)

hey it's that one zorak i'm back because canon ween sounds really fun. let's see... we never filmed a halloween special for coast to coast OR cartoon planet which was a DAMN shame. i guess snatch is kind of horror-ish? maybe? but that's about as close as we got. the council threw some pretty swanky halloween parties, though. i don't remember who hosted them, it might've been on a rotation sort of deal. but we got whoever's apartment decked out with cheapo decorations, those flimsy glossy ghosts and bats and plastic skulls and a crappy little smoke machine, the works. they weren't really costume parties but brak usually showed up in one anyway. also space ghost was never invited but most years he somehow managed to sneak in. im pretty sure one time he drank like half the punchbowl which was about 30% red juice and 70% vodka, and then moltar had to drive him home. it was pretty nuts and as of right now it's the only thing that happened at those parties that i remember with any clarity but i still think it's funny to call it "the time space ghost ruined our halloween party". lmao. -zorak (#🛸🎹💥)

Its so funny at first thinking i was human and then as time went by realizing im more and more alien like. My species was still very human besides like organs and other stufff. Really funny with this new context that this human man with powers adopted two alien kids and didn’t know anything about how different we were from humans

canon signs: as someone whose number 1 kin for creeping up on 3 years now has been zorak, it's really really funny to me that, as a kid, i loved the original space ghost cartoon so much that my mom made me a space ghost costume. with the power bands and everything. zorak wasn't even on my radar when i was 4 lmao (#🛸🎹💥)

not a mothers day heartfelt letter or a mothers day vent but a secret third thing (mothers day complicated relationship but, like, under the funniest possible circumstances. i have a feeling we'll need some levity in the inbox today.)
to my canon in the loosest of terms, never shown onscreen and rarely even mentioned mantis mom: for what it's worth, i wouldn't have been one half the evil space pirate i was without ya. in both a good way and a bad way. you were setting examples for me even before i was born when you ate my dad, which, to be clear, was the completely normal and expected course of events for our species. you ate most of my siblings, too, but we were mostly too small to remember that anyway. you raised me to be nasty, to put myself first, and to stay hungry- metaphorically and literally. i'll never forget the way you forced hobbies on me, and occasionally looked at me like i was a rare cut of steak. i might always resent you for the atmosphere of terror your rampant cannibalism created in our home, but it's that tough love that a kid like me needs to become an infamous villain turned tv-famous bug. thanks, ma, and i'll see you in hell, -Zorak (#🛸🎹💥)

Despite having this kin for almost 2 years ive never tried to figure out when my birthday was... until now! granted i wasnt BORN but for all intents and purposes im referring to when i hatched out of my little egg case. also in case you're wondering because you want to recreate this process for yourselves, it is almost entirely vibes-based guessing on my part. sorry. after looking up when wild mantises on earth hatch and deciding that was correct, i determined my birthday was definitely in the summer and i believe it was in early july. after some narrowing down i think it's either the 7th or the 9th, but im sure it was a single digit either way. dont let me forget this ask as we get closer to july and maybe by then i'll have come to a decisive conclusion on it. and dont even think about wondering what year it was–its rude to ask a pretty bug his age. -Zorak (#🛸🎹💥)
