---  HE  HADN’T  FULLY  EXPLAINED  TO  JIM   what  exactly  was  the  true  meaning  of  his  gifts  was.  what  being  a  beacon  fully  meant.  he  was  so  unstable,  so  scared  &  reckless,  already.  to  know  how  much  rested  on  these  beacons.  to  keep  order  across  the  multiverse  ---  well,  that  freak  out  could  topple  it  within  moments.  it  would  be  fine,  he  just  needed  to  learn  to  not  be  afraid  &  control  his  powers  better.  stephen  might  have  been  sorcerer  supreme,  but  there  was  still  a  lot  he  had  to  learn.  it  was  hard  not  to  feel  they  were  both  grasping  at  straws  in  these  lessons.  “  you’ll  be  alright,  deep  breaths.  you  just  summoned  a  bit  more  than  you  intended.  an  easy  mistake  to  make  this  early. ”   maybe  he  was  just  placating  him,  but  what  other  choices  did  he  have  right  now ?  //  @spaceworn   ( s.c )

   The man was skidding his body to a halt behind debris of what looked to be a small building of some sorts -- barely wincing at the press of a sharper edge of concrete bearing into his spine as he pressed himself flat against it ; blaster cradled in both hands as if he expected it to slip through fingers like the sand below his feet -- chest heaving and cascading out hard breaths, nostrils flared and brows twisted harshly inwards.      Whatever he had planned to do, however, once he took cover quickly chased itself out of his head when his eyes landed on the male who had apparently had the same idea as him. IMPERIALS were coloring the skies with the reds of blaster fire, so he assumed that this man wasn’t Imperial -- especially by his clothing -- but he also couldn’t yet safely assume ally.    “ -- who the kriff are you?” he’s hissing under his breath, lowering his gun to his hip as a stray bolt caused debris to spray near them as it hit the edging of their shelter -- using an arm to fleetingly cover his face.

                     “And then what are you gonna do? Leave me in a compromising position somewhere around the ship?” 

           Steve shoots right back, brows arched. He leans into Jim a little once the other drapes his arm around him. 

                      “Any options that won’t possibly put me in the medbay?”

It was true, he’d since regained his memories of his past life, but it felt appropriate to refer to him as James, or Jim as he preferred. Entering the bridge, Diana stood back and observed the crew hard at work, Captain Kirk in his element at the helm, commanding with an assertive force yet laced with a subtle kindness that could not be matched. Gently, she placed her hands on his shoulders, pecking his temple lightly. “Quite the natural.” she hummed. @spaceworn

           eliot didn’t like the word pirate. or mercenary. though that one was probably more accurate. he didn’t think it described who he was, what he did. it certainly didn’t describe lucille. hardison’s pride and joy. the fastest little ship he’d ever seen. a small silver speck next to a ship like the one he was currently being detained in. but she was still good. eliot just hoped that this particular starship didn’t mess with their ship. hardison would kill him. if these guys didn’t kill him first. “’m a scavenger, man. we thought you were easy pickin’s. clearly we were very mistaken.” it was just him. he’d been piloting.  hardison stayed behind to defend their current hidey-hole. it’d been stupid. he knew that. eliot folded his arms over his chest and fixed who he supposed was the captain, with a hard stare. “so. you gonna let me go? or you wanna give me a spankin’ b’fore you do?”

“So if I may ask sir.. how exactly did you manage to get this wound again?” She asked, glancing up from the wound she was currently sterilizing. She was trying to do it as quickly as possible before a certain Chief Medical Officer came barging in with a rather loud lecture for the Captain.
