   Caitlin watched with interest as the young woman worked vigorously to restore the large marble statute in front of her.  It felt wrong to disturb her, but sheâd come a long way to find help for her friend and this woman was the only person sheâd seen since sheâd wondered away from the tour group that sheâd come into the museum with, â Sorry for bothering you, â she added quickly. Â
   â But, Iâm not really looking for a display.  My name is Dr. Caitlin Snow.  I came from Central City to find a co-worker of yours named Diana Prince.  Do you by chance know where I can find her? â
   To be honest, this woman looked similar to the pictures that Cisco had given her before sheâd left Central City, but when it came to the identities of superheroes, there was no such thing as being too safe about making sure who they were before you disclosed sensitive information to them.Â

âIâm Diana Prince.â she responded, her head tilting in curiosity as she stared down the other woman with warm eyes. The woman of wonder wasnât entirely sure what this girl could possibly be doing so far from home, but she was colored intrigued as she folded her arms and flashed a polite smile,âWhat is it I can do for you, Dr. Snow?â

Pavel let Diana get up from her chair, sticking nearby just in case she collapsed. What she was saying didnât immediately make sense to him, and he doubted that it was because of the language barrier. Then she was hugging him, and Pavel had no idea what to do except reciprocate very gently.
âW-What did you see?â
âThey were so advanced, Pavel.â she replied, pulling away just enough to look him in the eyes,âIt was astonishing â what they can do!â Eyes fell briefly as she pondered what to reveal next, if it was wise. It was clear that the crew would still need to be wary of these strangers, but what choice did they have but to attempt contact? They would die out here otherwise. âThe one that spoke to me....had delved into your memories....she appeared as your mother.â

frank wasnât the one to believe in FATE. not anymore, at least. after everything he had been through, it was hard to believe in anything anymore. all he had to go on was himself, and himself alone. around every corner, they could have been there. what corrupt form of government there was left. every move he made had to be cautious and hostile. the very fact that the car didnât KILL him meant this may very well could have been an accident. but he canât dwell on it. he has to keep moving. even if the world is still spinning around him.
sheâs PANICKED. any average person probably would be. he can feel the blood trickle down his face â but he tries to hide the pain. what pain he feels now is nothing like the pain heâs felt before. the pain of losing a loved one. hand goes to wipe the blood off his face as his eyes scan the area. his bag. where did it go. where. is. it. he spots it, but before his body can lunge at it â he feels her arm LOOP under his.
thereâs a SEETHE as she slowly helps him to his feet. he doesnât know if he would have been able to do that by himself. his eye lands on her. heâs surprised she still wants to help him. seeing some ominous guy with a sorry excuse for an eyepatch. unkempt, but remaining such a way to BLEND IN. maybe she just doesnât want him to sue her, or something. not like heâd trust the court anyways. he grunts, â iâm â itâs â okay, â he tries to shrug her off. he goes to his duffle bag, picking it back up. â i donât need â â help. he stumbles slightly. from the way heâs not processing everything, he can only guess that hit gained him a concussion. great. he pauses, knowing she might not let up. â maybe ⌠maybe you can help me. â
A sigh parted from her chapped lips, relieved that the civilian would allow her to aid him. The countdown until the hunt began was still looming in the back of her mind, but this so called âcompetition of entertainmentâ was not going to stop her from doing the right thing, from being a good Samaritan. Not even her desperate circumstances could change her heart. After a struggle to help the man to her car and a short drive to the run down motel on the side of the road, the middle of nowhere, Diana sat on the bed of the room sheâd checked into, allowing the man time to clean himself up, nearby and intent on listening, should she find that he needed help. Eyes repeatedly glanced at the clock, keeping track of the hours, minutes, seconds she had until she was no longer safe. As determined as she was to keep moving, there was no use in running when she wasnât rested. Better cunning than sloppy, even if it meant staying put for a couple hours. Sheâd checked into a room with two beds in case the man needed to rest as well, unsure if he possessed more than a few bruises. Her guilt for plowing him down in the first place had caused her to impulsively request room service as well, thanking the maid that had delivered the tray before locking the door behind her. Diana set the trays on the table before lightly knocking on the bathroom door,âEverything alright in there?â she inquired softly.

the soft press of his lips, a hum. it turns into a tight smile. one that doesnât reach his eyes but it is some show of mirth. diana is right, of course, a miracle that they should meet again. having his memories non existent, he canât imagine the pain of what diana must have felt upon seeing his face, nor the heartache at losing him. steven, back then, had died for someone he loved. jim, now would to those same actions again. but this time, he had someone to come back to that kept the captain from leaping off that edge.
âi donât know what to do now. iâve based myself around circumstance, only to have this revelation dropped on me like an atom bomb.â a brief chuckle. âmakes me question everything about my life and what iâm going to do, moving forward.â his says this, almost like a warning to diana. to have two versions of self suddenly merge. to be steve trevor, the man whom diana fell in love with, only to be a carbon copy with different memories. could the goddess accept who jim kirk was?
âYou are exactly who youâve always been, Jim. Nothing about that will change just because we have found one another by transcending lifetimes.â she replied, speaking in a rather serious tone. Diana wanted to be sure that Jim did not feel as though his life would be uprooted just because heâd found out about a past life where it had all been different. That had been so long ago and the man he was died a hero. This was a new life. He was still the same inside his heart, but he was also no longer Steve Trevor; he was James T. Kirk, and Diana accepted it gladly. âI love you for who you are today, tomorrow, and all the days to come.â she whispered lovingly against his temple.

how she got involved with their crew was still, in itself, unclear. what was clear, however, is that it was a good idea to have her on their side. she would go on about some â god of WAR. some ancient greek stuff in which everyone thought was a bunch of horseshit. itâs not like frank didnât BELIEVE her. everyone had their ways of coping with war. to morph it into something itâs not in order to push out the realism of the situation. whether thatâs finding some greek god to place the blame on or itâs fooling yourself into thinking youâre fighting to PROTECT your country. at the end of the day, everyone knows why theyâre there. that reason, in itself, is SELFISH.
the reason sheâs here â as him, his lieutenant, and his superiors agreed â can further their cause. be that one step more in this war ending. rawlins went on about how since she KNEW them â knew where they were located â that she couldnât possibly leave. it was sounding awfully ⌠hostile. as if they were going to FORCE her to stay because she knows about cerberus. frank was the one to remind rawlins who exactly saved them from nearly being wiped out. the least they could do was house her for now. help her, like how she helped THEM. people could be suspicious of her if they wanted. but frank wasnât. besides. every soldier needs some backup, right?
now everyoneâs CHUCKLING. clearly amused about her reaction towards the pie. it isnât often they have such great food themselves. itâs probably the mixture of lively tastebuds and the overall CHEERFUL mood that brings a smile to his face. â yeah it is, â he laughs through a full mouth of pie. heâs sitting right beside her, everyone scarfing down the treat. itâs been a long time since anyone tasted something as nice as this. he swallows, â say, you ever had pie like this or are ya pullinâ our legs? â
It never phased Diana, the way the soldiers were constantly so amused by her reactions to things they rarely thought about, for things taken for granted or so normal that they became almost blaseâ. Every new experience to her was almost always welcomed, especially when it involved food. In such a wasteland where every day could most certainly be the last for these soldiers, these few moments that she could see their true colors brought a warm fondness to her heart. Particularly the smile and laugh of one, Frank Castle. âMy home has an array of sweet fruits but never before have I tasted them in such a delectable dessert!â she replied with a giggle as the sugar tickled her taste buds. As much as she wished to savor it, the Amazon couldnât stop herself from finishing her serving quickly, her stomach grateful for the surprise as she set down her fork and dabbed her lips with a napkin to wipe away any stray crumbs,âDo you have this often where youâre from, Frank?â
