Dancing AU ideas for Spame

Antonio is a professional dancer and is paired up with Amelia for a DWTS type of deal

Amelia is forced to take dance lessons so she can attend her fathers ✨fancy✨ party. She either gets paired up with Antonio or he’s the teacher. Leaning towards teacher

Okay so basically: he baby.

but for real:

Antonio is a costal merman, so he stays near areas like reefs and coves and what not, though he does travel through the deeper parts of the ocean on occasion

Because he’s a costal he has an affinity for warm waters and a diet of smaller fish (he can eat other foods but he’s used to eating that stuff)

He likes to impress so he tries to do tricks whenever Amelia is looking in his direction

A merman flirts by bringing a potential mate little trinkets like shells and shiny things. He doesn’t understand why Amelia gets mad when he takes a bunch of shells and rocks from the bottom of the tank and put them on the floor.

He’s decently large for a costal he is about 10 feet in length (most is tail)

His species is built for agility so he’s pretty fast

He loves to go out in the garden! Amelia made a little tank on a wheelbarrow with an umbrella over it so he doesn’t dry up so he can sit out there with her

He speaks a lot like dolphins with all those clicks and whatnot, but he was able to pick up learning Spanish and English from overhearing the humans as well as learning from other merpeople

He has had a few incidents with humans in the past and is...not fond of them

He just so happened to live near the area where the place Amelia worked for does their releases so he knows that these humans can be trusted at least a little bit

So when he senses a big storm approaching and seeing Amelia and her team get on the tiny boat he gets concerned and follows them

Amelias boat had a live feed, so when the boat broke it caught Antonio rescuing Amelia from drowning before cutting out

So now Amelia is being secretly tracked and investigated, tho she eventually figures out what’s going on and she’s like shit what the fuck I’m I gonna do I can’t keep this hot merman in my tank forever

Antonio is not immune to the charms of the stray cat

It is not unusual for Amelia to come home to find Antonio washing one or napping on the couch with a new feline friend

One thing Amelia was NOT prepared for was the fact that Europe has no native Skunks...

Needless to say the second she saw Antonio petting petting one of those stink bombs she damn near had a heart attack

“WHY IS THAT THING IN MY HOUSE!!??”

“What do you mean cariña, I bring in stray cats all the time?”

“Antonio I love you but that thing is a skunk.”

👁👄👁 “what’s a skunk??”

Luckily neither of them got sprayed and were able to get the skunk out of the house before it became an issue

Antonio is no longer allowed to bring in strays unless he gets permission first 😞

Continuation Merman AU

She ends up on a piece of drift wood where Antonio finds her and Amelia is all like :O

After her initial shock she starts asking him a shit ton of questions speaking a million words per minute and poor Antonio’s trying to so hard to answer

She realizes she’s overwhelming him and she chills (a little) and they talk about their lives and what it’s like to be a human/merman

She asks Antonio if there are more out there like him and he just gets sad and changes the topic

By the time they get close enough to shore they are both very in love with each other (even if they don’t realize it)

After spending days at sea with very little food or water she checks in to a hospital and stays there for a few days. She returns to the area where she last saw Antonio in hopes of seeing him again. She does this for about a week (she was given time off to “reciprocate”) she catches sight of him near a cove.

A part of her wants to take him in to study (she is a scientist after all) but she also knows that he wouldn’t be happy with his life and she would be betraying his trust if she did this.•The reason her and her crew went out to see was to monitor the local sea life to see if there were any endangered animals or plants in the ocean for a shipping dock to be built and used there. She wants to speak out against it because she knows it’s Antonio’s home (and possibly other merpeoples) but she can’t say anything without endangering him/them, so all she can do is sit there and watch as the companies take their failed attempts documenting sea life as a green light to start building.

Antonio is devastated at the prospector having to leave his home especially the way he has to leave it but he knows he can trust Amelia and he knows that he would be safe with her

Luckily she has a giant tank at home for him to stay in and while it’s nothing like the ocean, it’s better than her tub...still hard to hid him when her father comes to visit

“What blood fish do you have that has a tail that large???”

“It’s uuuuuuhhhhh...a new species...that...I’m documenting...”

“So you decided to keep it as a pet??”

“...Yes...”

“Whelp, I supposed I don’t know enough about marine biology to argue.”
