In the Goomer comics, one of the most humorous recurring gags was related to Mother's Day. There are many pages that involve this holiday in increasingly creative and hilarious ways.
I tried my best to translate this one.

While on the search for this 2D animated series that may or may not exist I came across one of the people who worked on Goomer and found his website.
This guy does the layout and other stuff for many shows and I saw quite a few layout pieces from Goomer that he did.
And I saw an opportunity to test out more experimenting with Clip Studio Paint, so I picked this one interesting drawing he did and went to work!
What I did was inking, coloring and adding filters to give it more of an old '90s cartoon look.
And you guys know me, I always credit my sources so I will leave a link to this guy's site.

Goomer (1999)
After reading some of the Goomer comics and reading up on some backgrounds that I can find, I watched the 1999 movie, unfortunately it doesn't have an English dub or subtitles so I wasn't able to make out the dialogue but I did understand what the movie was about.
Even though I can't rate this movie without hearing the dialogue and no subtitles. However, I can rate the animation.
The animation looks well done for the most part. It kept the look as close to the source material as possible which is good but I wish they had done the backgrounds in the watercolor like the comic. That would have made this movie even better and it would have made the characters pop out more. I think this is Filmax's first attempt at doing traditional animation and it definitely shows here considering the software they were using for the production. When you watch the movie you'll see it if you pay close attention.
They're many of the shots you'll see the cut-off point of the cels where the painting ends. This is probably due to the software they're using and they were just learning how to use it so they either didn't notice these errors or they couldn't figure out how to mask it. The software they use to put this all together is called “Antics 2-D Animation” and other editing tools.
I also noticed some unusual cuts in the film. It looked like some scene was cut or something which I'll talk about in the next post. I wish I could ask Filmax about it, only they have the answers to my questions regarding this film. For the most part this is still a very interesting animation and definitely a good learning experience for Filmax.
The animation get a 4 out of 5 score.
After Reading and watching "Mortadelo y Filemón" I came across this other Spanish comic called "Goomer"
It's A Slice of Life, Sci-fi comedy about An intergalactic trucker named Goomer, learning to adapt to the weird customs of an alien planet he landed on.
I'll talk more about this gem later.
Hey comic-interested people in and around Angoulême, I'll give a talk about the spanish independent comic scene, authors, festivals, shops... #javidecastro #modernitobooks #larson #pressyourluck #tv #tvshow #michaellarson #comic #tebeo #spanishcomic #art #novelagrafica #graphicnovel #bamf #comicbook
