Nem immediately opens the door, blinking slowly. "Of course I'll read it for you, Firecracker, but who sent you a poetry book?"

Nem knocks a rhythm on Macklin's door a few days later. "Heyy! FIrecracker! I have some stuff for you!"

that feeling where your best friend managed to push away everyone except you and now you just kinda have to deal with that

Nem stumbles into the back of the library, blood dripping from her side. They cough wetly, blinking and cursing.

"F**k, s**t, ow..."

She pulls out a roll of bandages but wince as they notice the extent of the damage.

"oh cod what the flying-" macklin drops the rag he was cleaning with and goes to het side "WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO???"

Nem gets back to her dorm to find macklin already there. Just sitting on her bed reading a book, spice on his lap

"Hey!" Nem acts like this is completely normal and plops down next to him. "What'cha reading?"

Macklin sits in the library, head turned slightly so his good eye can properly read the book on his lap.

A pale sunset coloured dragon sits on his shoulder, he seems to be reading out loud to her
