In the world of the Ratscape, there are two types of rats - Pure Rats and Cursed Rats. Pure rats are pretty standard rats. Other than having the ability to talk and sometimes coming in strange colors, not much sets them apart from an irl rat. Cursed rats on the other hand are rats that come with a surprising variety of mutations and magic powers, whether they were born with these powers or imbued with them later in life depends on them rat.

Splotch is a cursed rat with a mutation that gives her working wings. Ever since she was a pinkie, she’s always been curious as to where her wings and the source of the cursed rats’ magic came from. That’s why she became part of The Whisker Island in fact, to dedicate her life to studying the Ratscape’s magic and all the secrets it holds!
