Horrance + collaring for @fiyero3305 ! We know Klaus would love to be Sparrow Ben’s pet and Ben loves to be in control. But what if the roles were reversed? What if Ben needed a little bit of training hmm?

Obviously I don’t really mind Sparrows x Umbrellas ships. Like, on principle, that’s definitely less weird than Sparrows x Sparrows or Umbrellas x Umbrellas, so sure, fine.

However. One thing I absolutely cannot get behind is Sparrow Ben x Umbrellas- ESPECIALLY Klaus.

If you think that’s unfair? Okay. Whatever.

But if the argument is that Umbrella x Umbrella is weird because they were raised like siblings… then how is it not just as weird for any of them to fuck Ben? Even if it’s Sparrow Ben, he still looks exactly like their sibling. Same face. Same body. Same deal.

And yes, I’m singling out Klaus on purpose.

Klaus is literally with Ben 24/7 because of the whole ghost thing. And I’ve read fics where Klaus sleeps with Sparrow Ben and then it’s either:

Klaus constantly comparing him to Umbrella Ben, or

Umbrella Ben straight up watching

And I’m sorry but that’s just… weird! It’s weird!!

Just thought, what horror genres or genres in general do you see Hargreeves siblings specifically

I just been in a horror mood for the past days and this popped up in brain rn so...

I have few of my own but just wanna see others opinions cause its fun ଘ(੭ˊᵕˋ)੭*

Idea: The Brellies and The Sparrows hugging eachother, and Luther and Marcus can only hug eachother without breaking the other's back or causing them to faint. Some of the Hargreeves are awkward AF going about it. Some of the siblings only hug eachother when they are close to a mental breakdown. But there are some Hargreeves who can hug eachother casually.

most open to hugs i think would be klaus (generally open with physical contact), diego (beyond his occasionally rough words, that man is soft), umbrella ben (he’s been dead for a while and just wants to interact with his siblings), allison (def left the academy seeking connection), viktor (he’s been an outsider for long enough to also crave physical connection with anyone expressing love or kindness in his direction), and sloane (open and offering affection but also respecting boundaries if she sees others are uncomfortable).

five is desperately touch starved but i don’t think he’d be the type to ask for a hug. probably wasn’t the touchiest as a kid, but the complete lack of any contact through the apocalypse made him miss the casual contact that he’d have with his siblings- knocking into each other when racing up the stairs before he’d blink to the top, elbows bumping at the dining table, shoulder to shoulder during their line up before missions. he’s also just kinda weird about touch since the first physical contact after the apocalypse was shaking the handler’s hand and all of her uncomfortable touches in the commission. he’d verbally grumble if a sibling hugged him, but wouldn’t teleport or pull away.

luther is open to hugs, but his self-image + powers make him wary about hugging people bc he doesn’t want to accidentally hurt the other person. probably waits for someone else to initiate or asks first. both he and marcus are aware that they can only hug each other without worrying about their powers causing harm to the person they’re hugging, but also the two of them are awkward about how to ask for a hug to each other. marcus keeps the public at a distance and finds it difficult to get close to anyone outside his siblings, and luther might be family after sloane married him (+ also being raised by reginald) but it’s gonna take a while to warm up.

i think sparrow ben and christopher are in a similar boat of wanting to be touched/hugged, but also not really sure about how to go about asking. christopher is more open about seeking it out than ben is, but it’s also more difficult for him just bc of his shape. hugging him isn’t exactly easy, and it usually amounts to someone awkwardly reaching their arms around (not the same effect as hugging he’s looking for) or just patting him (which is nice, but not the same).

sparrow ben bristles a lot being when hugged, always warring with himself between sinking into it and rejecting it/pushing away to not make himself vulnerable. klaus has found the most effective way to get sparrow ben to accept a hug is if he hugs umbrella ben first, then sparrow ben gets jealous. also it gives sparrow ben the “plausible deniability” to say he’s only letting klaus hug him bc he’s “not going to let that other ben do better than him”. klaus (everyone, really) knows that’s just a front, but they don’t call sparrow ben on it bc he really needs the hugs.

alphonso and jayme have plenty of casual physical contact with each other, but they don’t hug too often. usually if they see the other not doing so well, they’ll hug and offer comfort. it’s still a step up from some of their other siblings since they actually hug before the mental breakdown happens, instead of after a breaking point is reached. fei has something similar, where sloane checks in and offers hugs when she notices that fei is feeling low.

fei feels like a burden asking for hugs, even after sloane as assured that it’s no trouble at all, and when they were younger, had often taken extra hits from reginald (in addition to her usual attempts to shield her siblings) as a way to “repay” her for that comfort. sloane never made the connection, and fei never told her bc this was a self-imposed thing and knows that sloane would feel guilty if she was aware. there’s a lot of unlearning to be done after reginald is gone.

i haven’t read young blood, but did see a synopsis that said ryan stayed with his “friends” bc he cared about them even tho they didn’t care about him back & only stuck around bc he gave them powers?? if that doesn’t scream “desperately seeking connection”, i don’t know what does. he’s awkward about approaching for a hug, but if someone hugs him, he absolutely melts into it.

also haven’t read much about carla in the comics, but i think she’d be the one most likely to call out the others when they deny wanting physical contact. when any of them say something along the lines of “i don’t need a hug!” and she shoots them an “i don’t believe you” look. she doesn’t actually say the phrase aloud/use her powers, but most times the sibling in question will fold & be hugged.

we didn’t get to see much of phil besides his fire powers, but i like the idea that he runs hotter when he’s having strong emotions. he goes from being uncomfortably warm to potentially burning someone when touching & doesn’t want to risk accidentally hurting others. the most casual physical contact might have been from grace when he was sick- though only after several rounds of accidentally melting her and reginald rebuilding her to be more heat resistant. ofc klaus yanks him into hugs bc he’s immortal and “hugging my brother is worth it!”

(side tangent: very fond of HCs about how grace differs between timelines. umbrella!grace might have been more durable bc she was built to withstand viktor’s sound blasts after those nannies were injured/died. and since she was programmed to replace those nannies, she was also more motherly. sparrow!grace was somewhat of a caretaker when they were younger, but was basically relegated to housekeeper as reginald handled the sparrows with a stricter hand. i’d imagine that pheonix!grace had her own variations in build and programming to suit them.)

sparrows get a group hug after ben sees all his siblings alive in the reset timeline. umbrellas also get a group hug as they pile into luther seeing him revived as well. they see reginald is ruling the world and decide to take him out. everyone gets a group hug after that’s done because GET FUCKED OLD MAN!!! and they’re all riding a high of being truly free to be who they want. they’re not really sure how to do that, but they’ve got all the time (and all of the hargreeves money) to figure it out :)

Fei taking most of the hits from Reginald at a young age as to not burden her siblings and avoid adding more to their plate, so when she finds out that Sloane wanted to leave and marry some guy she met barely a week ago, she's firstly angry at the Brellies because the wounds from her siblings' deaths are fresh in her mind and she convinces herself that they must've brainwashed her somehow, but then the next person she turns her anger on is not Sloane, never Sloane, the same girl who has kept their family together more than anything, the one who has comforted her and seen her at her worst, the same one who used to get so angry when people crossed the line with Marcus or Jayme, or anyone.

It's herself. Maybe if she'd been stronger, maybe if she tried harder, maybe if she had took more off her other siblings' plates, THEN Sloane wouldn't have had to find comfort in a total stranger, then she would've been good enough for ONE DAMN PERSON to stay and be alive near her. I feel like if the Kugelblitz hadn't gotten to her first, she likely would've self-destructed another way, and Sparrow Ben being the type of person he is even though he LOVES his siblings, wouldn't have possibly found a way to stop her in time

oww fei :(( ofc she’d turn all the blame onto herself, even though the fault lies all on reginald :(( in a scenario where fei lives instead of ben, maybe sloane attempts some kind of bachelorette gathering with her, fei, lila, and allison. allison is still too angry and grieving over claire, so she doesn’t attend, but lila makes an effort even though sloane and fei are basically strangers to her. fei spends the entire time thinking that jayme should have been there- sloane is getting married, and fei is the last of the sparrows that’s around to see it.

despite the wedding festivities, the mood isn’t entirely happy- both bc of the impending end of the world and their siblings dying that previous week. sloane does try to reach out emotionally to fei, as she’s often done, but fei is already feeling so awful believing she “hadn’t done enough” to make sloane want to stay, she thinks that if she opens up about those thoughts now, she’ll just be “burdening” sloane more. fei deflects, and since they’re both mourning their siblings, sloane takes it at face value. i just know that the guilt would eat sloane alive when she realizes that her sister was self-destructing, and wishing she had been able to prevent it :(

also, this got me thinking about a time loop scenario that both fei and sparrow ben are caught up in. fei is continually trying to take herself out of the picture without causing additional strife, having decided that if sloane is happier with luther and the umbrellas, then she can let her have that. ben is trying to stop fei from self-destructing, and failing, bc he doesn’t know how to reach her, and he’s not sure why she’s so determined to rid herself.

both of them think they’re the only one in the loop. neither of them ever speak it aloud bc they don’t want to tell sloane, under the belief that it would be better to let sloane enjoy her wedding, despite their feelings about the umbrellas. poor sloane can tell something is up, but since they won’t tell her, she’s mostly unaware to the extent of how bad their mental states have gotten with the repetitions. it’s a terribly angsty time all around…
