Spawn got his own live action movie back in 1997 and it stars Michael Jai White and John Leguizamo. As a kid I was actually hyped to see it in theaters the action was packed, spawn looked good minus the cgi look whenever he transforms but what brought it down was the effects were so terrible it was almost like a old PlayStation game and also with clown he was a bit sinister but too comical I felt he wasn't the clown aka violator in the comics nor the animated series. Plus it was PG-13 and not rated R because they wanted to target kids and young adults to see Spawn but once the directors cut came out it was a little better but not as great as I thought it would be. Still it's a underrated movie but I'm still waiting for the remake to come and it'll be hard core rated R this time.
