the love triangles on aahc completely washing the ones on aa
Listen All American does not need another friends to lovers/emotional cheating trope. In the words of T-Pain “DO SOMETHING ELSE!!!” I have no idea why NK would make that the basis of the Jimone/Dimone/Jordayla situation. That’ll look so boring. Emotional cheating has been done before here and been done WELL might I add. The Spelivia/Spayla love triangle might have been one-sided but 3A ATE!!! The cabin episode with both Layla and Liv giving advice to Spencer about the letters and Spencer following Liv, his “friend’s” advice instead of Layla’s, his girlfriend??? Perfection. This show will never serve emotional cheating like that ever again. This show will never serve pining like that ever again. Everything else after will seem lackluster in comparison.
Do something else!!!!! Say what you want about Jimone but no other ship in this universe will ever be them either. Fast burn. Married young. Pregnancy scandal. Forbidden love (kinda). They’re excellent. They’re DIFFERENT. How you calling them boring but shipping ships with tropes that have been done on this show before?? No uniqueness. Just recycled tropes with lackluster chemistry. THAT’S boring. I think that’s why I gravitated to Keisha and Cam and their friends with benefits to lovers situation. Like yes!!! Something different. And even then they made them become friends way too fast for me.
It’s your party. Be rude, girl, go ahead.
this show said what giant elephant in the room?
the way that all of the official all american accounts are trying to push it at us that coop died gives me the same feeling as when they tried their hardest before the vegas flashback episode to convince us that spelivia had sex while they were there together. they chose their words, cut scenes where they had to to make it look like it happened - and then it didn't. they never said the words "spencer and olivia hooked up," but they made sure that we all thought that they would.
the same thing goes for the season four promo. almost every scene they used in the trailer involving someone in the hospital / mourning someone's death could've been for either coop or LAYLA, who was also shown entering a dangerous potential murder-suicide situation with a stalker in the s3 finale who is shown hysterical in the trailer, leading some people to think that carrie is reacting to accidentally killing her instead of going through with her suicide pact fantasy. we see spencer and patience, both of whom were close to both coop and layla, mourning a loss and supporting each other, and neither layla nor coop appear in the trailer at any point, but -
all official promo so far has been pretty much silent towards layla, but the amount put towards coop has been the same type of vague and purposely misleading. the picture posted on the cwallamerican instagram account on September 17 is of coop with the caption "her career was just getting started." and let's think about this.
who was the one furthering coop's career? layla.
who was the one with the music layla was producing? coop.
either way you take this post, whether it's about layla's career or coop's, it implies that something has changed drastically, and the reason i don't think it's talking about coop being dead?
why, a month before the season premiere with the inevitable big reveal and funeral, would they ever spoil that coop actually died?
why would they cut the suspense that they built in the season 3 finale by having her shot now? why would they tell people what they're supposed to be waiting for the premiere of season 4 to find out? why would they give away one of what will be the biggest plots of season 4?
the answer is that they wouldn't, and you can consider more easily answered questions now: if layla survived, why was she so silent in the trailer? if layla survived, why isn't there any promo implying that she'll be there? if layla survived, why hasn't greta onieogou herself said anything about the trailer, season four, or filming?
i don't think that layla is gonna make it, guys. after that vegas switch, we know that all american loves to bait us and then go in for the plot twist, and that's exactly what i'm seeing happen here. i have had a Lot to say about the writing being iffy for some characters and plots, but if i'm right, it means that the marketing and promo team is smart in what they're doing. on the other hand, if i'm wrong, i don't know who they have to fire for giving an entire season away the way they could be.
posting this to see if i'm right. if i am, i'll be mad. if i'm not, we can just pretend this whole analysis never happened ❤️
I wasn’t a fan of Layla and Spencer but it’s kinda annoying how people are rooting for her to experience “the same pain” liv did in season one. And the truth is, it’s not the same pain, Liv had a mere crush on Spencer it wasn’t rooted in anything deep at moment because they both were just getting to know him.
Layla however, has been Intimate with Spencer, she shared a piece of her world with him where she hadn’t let anyone else. It doesn’t matter how much we was against the relationship it was real for them and they went through a lot together. So to hold Spencer and Layla’s relationship over the past two season to what happened to Liv in season 1 is unrealistic and unfair. I get it what she did was grimy but Spencer was also actively pursuing a relationship with her she didn’t beg him and then after their breakup she gave him a clear out saying their hook up meant nothing and he actively stringed her along for months.
Yet people are hell bent on her getting over it, constantly dismissing her pain, like feelings disappear in a day and she deserves to suffer the double standards are annoying. And we are quick to give Olivia grace and room to make errors and recover. But wish for Layla to suffer for the rest of her life, she has no support in the show and even less support in the fandom and hurts to see. And until this season she was my least favorite. But how this fandom treats her is atrocious.
Hey, thanks for coming. I know it can't be easy to come to the jammy jamboree when you can't play in the actual jamboree.
