❣️ Disclaimer ❣️
As this fest is intended to be a place of positivity, we do not endorse any badmouthing of any preferences, sexual or otherwise, under any conditions. Even so, be aware that we vet each work personally and that we will only allow fanworks that align with the rules (see below) to be posted to the collection. Rejected fanworks are still allowed to be posted elsewhere by the creator, but not under the name of the fest.
Since this is a smutty fest, you must be at least 18 years old to participate.
The main pairing for this fest is exclusively Harry x Draco or Drarry. Poly relationships including Drarry are not allowed. Threesomes including Drarry are not allowed. You can have as many side pairings of other HP characters and original characters as you’d like, but your submission must focus on Drarry, and the endgame pairing must be Drarry.
This fest is also exclusive for top!Harry x bottom!Draco. Top!Draco and/or bottom!Harry is not allowed, explicitly or implicitly. There are other great fests for that!
The fest will allow the following participants:
Writers create written work for the fest, such as fic or poetry.
Artists create visual work for the fest, such as digital art, traditional art, or comics.
Writing and Art Betas reviews the fanwork before submission and gives the creators feedback. The form to sign up as a beta for the fest can be found here (beta sign-ups will be open for the same duration as writer/artist sign-ups). Writers and Artists are encouraged to use a Beta, but they are not required.
Participants will be invited to join the Discord server once they’ve successfully claimed a prompt.
This will be an anonymous fest! Please do not tell anyone other than your beta(s) about the specifics of your fanwork. Your work will be posted as anonymous. The writers and artists will be revealed once all fanworks have been posted. Please do not cross-post your work to other platforms until then! You are allowed to respond to comments while your work is anonymous (the responses will be anonymous), but you cannot divulge any identifying information—or you can wait until after the reveal!
The mods reserve the right to reject any submissions that violate any of the fest guidelines.
ONE WEEK OF PROMPTING AND WE ALREADY HAVE 80 PROMPTS?!?!?! 😭
Thank you so much to everyone who’s submitted a prompt so far!!! There have been so many good ones already, from Veela drama to fake dating, arranged engagements, rom-com chaos, case fics, and truly heroic levels of pining.
We are SO excited to see what participants will make of these!
And while we're here... just a few reminders:
Prompting is open until 19th July @ 23:59 BST, so there's still plenty of time to send in your ideas!
✍️ Prompting Form & 📖 Prompt Gallery
Next up, Writer, Artist, and Beta sign-ups and claiming will open on 25th July @ 00:01 BST.
If you're planning to sign up as a writer or artist and don't have an Ao3 account yet, we strongly recommend requesting one now. All fest entries will need to be posted to Ao3, and the invite queue can take time.
If your Ao3 account is still pending when sign-ups/claiming opens, we'll ask for proof that you've requested one, such as the confirmation email from Ao3.
Thank you again for feeding our little prompt gallery so beautifully! Until the next update!
Please make this strictly only hpdm, no dmhp or other ships being forced that sidelines hpdm, sorry for saying this, we haven't had hpdm event in years and I want to see it exclusively only for bottom Draco with Top Harry 😭
The event will be strictly HPDM! No switching or DMHP allowed, explicit or mentioned ^^
The lack of HPDM events in the recent decade was one of the main motivators for our organising this fest! And both of us are also personally strict haha
For some more details about how we deal with other ships, check out our FAQ! The gist is that temporary relationships between Harry/Draco and other characters are allowed, but the endgame ship must be monogamous drarry ^^
As this is a smutty fest, all submissions must have at least an M-rating, and all characters must be 18+ in smut scenes.
Because of the above, your submission must contain at minimum one sexually explicit scene between Harry and Draco, and at maximum however many you want to include!
What exactly is meant by top!Harry and bottom!Draco?
In the case of penetrative anal and/or vaginal sex of any measure, whether it is fingers, toys, or Harry himself, Draco must be at the receiving end. Top!Draco and/or bottom!Harry is not allowed in any capacity, explicit or mentioned.
Topping and bottoming only pertain to the physical act of penetration. Both Harry and Draco can display dominant and submissive behaviours within and outside of a sexual context to your heart's extent (as long as it remains in line with the prompt you choose, of course).
Is genderblending, trans, het, etc. allowed?
M/M, F/F, and F/M Harry x Draco are all allowed in this fest, so long as it complies with the top!Harry x bottom!Draco requirement (see question above for the fest’s definition of top/bottom). We understand that top/bottom in lesbian relationships is more complicated than that, but for the sake of this fest, it is limited to anal and/or vaginal penetration. If you are unsure whether your prompt or fanwork fits, especially if it changes Harry or Draco’s gender, sex, anatomy, or sexual dynamic, please contact the mods before proceeding.
What pairings are allowed?
Since this fest is exclusively for the Harry x Draco pairing, threesomes and polyamorous pairings are not allowed! Please respect the rules of the fest!
Temporary relationships between Harry and/or Draco and other characters are allowed, but Harry and Draco's sexual positions must be maintained even within the other relationships. Harry x Draco is the only endgame ship!
You may have as many side pairings with other HP characters, or with original characters, as you’d like.
How should I write a prompt?
Prompts should be broad and flexible. The prompt should give creators a premise, trope, theme, concept, or story idea to build from, rather than a beat-by-beat outline of exactly what should happen. Creators should have room to interpret the idea in their own way while staying true to the essence of the prompt.
Do I have to follow the prompt I claim?
Yes, but creators are allowed creative license. Prompts are intended to inspire, not function as personal commissions or detailed instructions. Have fun with it! Your submission doesn’t need to follow it in an overly strict or literal way unless the prompt specifically requires a certain trope, theme, concept, etc. As long as your work keeps the essence of the prompt and respects the prompter’s stated squick(s), you may adapt the idea to suit your fic or art!
Does my entry need to be beta-read?
You do not need to use a beta, though the mods do encourage the use of one! If you don’t have a beta and you do want one, the mods will try to pair you with one that has signed up for this fest. Fill out this form (link TBA) to request a beta.
Am I required to do my own Rich Text or HTML-coding and formatting for my fic?
Yes! For HTML, the mods recommend using the following tools to post your work to AO3:
HTML Help Page on AO3
AO3’s Google Docs Script for your fic to be copy/paste-friendly for HTML formatting. (Read about this script here.)
Ellipsus also has a built-in Export to Ao3.
For art, the mods recommend using Squidge to host your images. It’s free to join, and after uploading your art, Squidge provides embed codes that you can copy+paste into the HTML box on AO3.
Do you allow for extensions?
Extensions will be judged on an individual basis. If you think you’ll need an extension for your submission, or you’re not able to complete your submission by the time posting starts 16th January 2027, please let the mods know ASAP!
Can I claim a second prompt if I’m done with my first prompt?
You may claim a second prompt if you complete and submit your first prompt before the first check-in (24th October 2026).
If I have a question that’s not addressed here, where do I ask it?
Feel free to submit a question on our Tumblr (@spb-fest), email the mods ([email protected]), or message the mods on Tumblr or Twitter (@spb_fest)!
Prompting Rules
Submit your prompts through this form. Submitted prompts can be viewed in the gallery here.
Each person can submit up to ten (10) prompts.
Anyone can leave a prompt, even if they don't intend to create anything for the fest.
Leaving a prompt isn't a requirement to participate in the fest.
Self-prompting (creating a fanwork based on your own prompt) is allowed, but be mindful of the other prompts when doing so, and remember to check the option in the form!
You can submit prompts anonymously, or you can share your name/Ao3 handle so that the writer or artist can tag you on Ao3.
Your prompt must allow for an M (Mature) or E (Explicit: only suitable for adults) rating, but does not need to be explicit in and of itself.
Prompters are allowed to list squicks (Do Not Wants), such as certain endings, tropes, or sexual acts. There is a list of provided squicks, of which prompters can select as many as they’d like. For other unlisted/freeform squicks, please limit to five (5).
All squicks must be shared in a civil and neutral manner. Badmouthing in prompts will lead to your prompt being refused.
There are no limitations on eras (e.g., Hogwarts-era, 8th year, post-War, etc), or characters (canon or original), but Harry x Draco or Drarry must be the focus of your prompt. Be mindful of the minimum age of characters (18) in any smut scenes when prompting about a specific era.
Prompts should be general, open-ended, and flexible. The prompt should give the participants a premise, concept, tone, trope, theme, or starting point to inspire their fanwork, rather than outlining exactly how the story or art should be. Creators should have room to interpret the idea in their own way while keeping the essence of the prompt.
Claiming Rules
You can view the list of prompts in the gallery here. (Prompts will start showing automatically once prompting opens 22nd June 2026 at 00:01 BST.)
You can submit a claim here. (Will be available once claiming opens 25th July 2026 at 00:01 BST.)
You must be 18+ to claim a prompt.
Prompts are claimed on a first-come, first-claim basis. Each prompt can be claimed once for fic and once for art.
You may only claim one (1) fic prompt and one (1) art prompt at a time.
You may claim a second prompt if you complete and submit your first prompt before the first check-in (24th October 2026).
If you don’t think you can complete your claim(s), please let the mods know ASAP so we can free up the claim(s) for someone else to pick up.
