We went to the SPCA dog show today and Izzy was a star! She came second in two of the three classes we entered (Agility and fancy dress...she didn't get best rescue because she doesn't "Look like a rescue" but anyway) and I couldn't be happier. It was her first time in such a busy/stimulating environment and she calmed down pretty quickly. And since it was held in the main horse showgrounds, I went to the warm up ring and did a little obedience training session to see how she'd handle it and she was absolutely amazing! We even had a little audience who were really impressed with her and I had so many proud mom moments. I kept doing random exercises (sit, down, spin, high five) just to keep her attention and a bunch of people commented on how beautiful she was, how obedient she was, etc., and someone asked if I'd consider training their dogs for them which is like...wow?? She was so friendly with other dogs, even the ones who weren't sure of her - She's very intuitive and adjusts pretty well according to what kind of dog she's interacting with. I got asked about 50 times by little kids if she was "a police dog" which was amusing 😂 Very happy with my little house wolf
