“Oh so that’s where I went wrong. Thanks Boom; these new gloves will be great.” Despite the fact that being a C-squad recruit meant mostly intense physical training and the occasional mundane mission designed to teach her and her fellow squad members life lessons, Billie still found time for the love passed down in her family: science.

She walked out of the lab and slipped on the gloves-and promptly ran into someone. “Oops! Sorry!”

“Sweet, they work!” Jamie grinned as she finished punching the wall and eyed the gloves she was wearing. She’d been working on a pair of gloves that would change in density depending on their impact with various objects. She didn’t usually work with developing things, but she’d had an idea and had run with it. “Mom will be so proud.”

The trouble with emotions: Jamie

Most days during SPD training, Jamie Scott would wonder if her grandfather Jason would be proud of her. Today, however, she was exhausted from a long day of training. Her fellow recruits had been just a little bit cocky, so the training and simulations had been tougher than usual. She was in shape, so it might not have been so bad. But for some reason, the angrier and more fearful her fellow recruits got with the simulations, the worse she felt. At the moment she had a pounding, migraine headache and found herself stumbling down the hall.

“Hey watch it!” someone yelled. Jamie hardly heard them. She felt as if she was going to be sick.

OKAY SO I SAW AN AU SOMEWHERE WHERE NIKKI’S HAIR CHANGES WITH THE SEASONS AND I THOUGHT LETS ADD MORE

so basically, my idea was this: 

Nikki comes from a long line of fairy human hybrids (hence her feeling so connected to nature and literally not being able to live without it) and her family has a magical genetic disorder called Seasonal Personality Disorder (SPD) where their hair, eyes, and personality change based on the season.

(this would also explain why she and her mother seem to have natural green hair)

Summer: The Nikki we know and love. she is energetic, wild and unpredictable. up for anything and cares a lot about her friends

Autumn: tame, calm and sweet as maple syrup. she spends a lot of time taking walks in forests of changing leaves and petting stray dogs. she has at least 3 potted plants in every room.

Spring: energetic and extremely unpredictable. seriously. one minute you think shes calming down, the next she just adopted five dogs because “I like dogs.” she spends most of her time outside in the garden caring for an impossible amount of flowers. she is unusually affectionate and just cant seem to get enough attention from those she loves and is particularly romantic.

Winter: very secluded and shy. the opposite of spring aside from the fact that she spends most of her time caring for plants, making sure the perennials stay healthy during the winter. she doesn’t show as much affection as her other months and can seem a little bit cold at times but really does try to be nice.

‘Helping’: SPD Jamie and Matt

Jamie/Matt drabble set in SPD AU; if someone wants to reply and make it an rp, feel free.

There was no real leader among C squad or D squad cadets, but the role often fell to Jamie anyway in an unofficial capacity. Her fellow cadets complained that it was because of who her grandfather was, but Jamie thought it was more than that-or at least she hoped it was.

Today she was sparring with Matt Oliver-another ranger descendant and fellow cadet. He was a stronger fighter and a rougher one, tending to fight quick, dirty, and searching for weak points.

“Got you again,” Matt said after knocking her down with the end of his staff. “You wanna go best 3 out of five?”

“You’ve got to stop being so cocky, Matt. An enemy will take advantage of that.”

“Says the one who’s been beaten twice.”

“Look Matt,” Jamie said, struggling to her feet. It was supposed to be practice, but she thought he’d probably hit her a little too hard. “You fight the same way every time. Eventually someone’s going to pick up on that and exploit it.”

“Not if I find their weak point and get them first,” Matt replied.

“And that’s another thing,” she said. “You’re rather relentless,, which is fine in certain situations, but honestly, I think there are going to be times where we need to simply disable rather than completely defeat and cripple.”

“You’ve never even seen a battle, how would you know?”

“Neither have you! But you almost killed me just now!”

He grinned. “What’s the matter-Miss Red Ranger’s granddaughter can’t take the heat?”

“More like Tommy Oliver’s grandson needs to be taken down a peg,” she retorted. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to the med bay to make sure you didn’t crack my ribs with that thing.”‘ She’d leave Matt behind and limp down the hall, holding her side.

“Man, it’s tough trying to help people with things,” she muttered.

“Look guys, just because the red ranger’s the leader doesn’t mean anyone’s more important than anyone else,” Jamie argued with her fellow cadets.

“Oh sure, that’s easy for you to to say Miss ‘My grandfather was the original red ranger’.”

“Some folks think Zordon might’ve been, but no one really knows,” Jamie retorted. “And you can think what you want. Just because someone else is the leader doesn’t mean the other team members can’t contribute something just as valuable.”

“So you’d be fine if they made you pink ranger?”

“Yeah, why not? But it’s not up to me. When the time comes, they’ll put me where I’m most valuable.”
