          the words the mentor speaks bridge on cruelty.    though their intent is far from such, there’s a natural accusatory tone that links itself to such sentences. perhaps, they come to realize that as it  leaves  their lips  ;  perhaps, they truly do, as they speak up once more.  canting their head.  ❝  what is on your mind . i may be strong but i’m certainly not a mind reader, not yet anyways .  ❞

             A hand calloused by the past, but despite everything contained a warmth with a softness that will never go away would reach for her. Placed against a cheek to lift her expression.. Obsidian reflecting only her. For a moment she had forgotten about the curse simmering away leaving only remnants behind as it vanished.

there’s no explanation to the feeling that swelters in the mentor’s chest as the girl sets her awkward embrace around their frame.   they know it is awfully warm  --  and painful.   like a hot iron being pressed against their ribcage  ;  and it makes them feel  . . .  grateful, perhaps.  ❝  ...  don’t force yourself, keiko .  ❞  there, upon her back, they set a hand.  gently, as light as a feather.  ❝  i understand well enough .  ❞  it’s as close to a thank you as they can manage.

          For  a  moment  they  already  were  watching  girl  wandering  around.  Considering  this  place  currently  held  a  lot  of  negative  energy,  they  were  glad  to  feed  on  it,  especially  after  witnessing  what  happened.  Yet,  currently  the  young  shaman  was  distracting  them.  To  some  extend  she  did  remind  of  two  people  who  were  there  something  like  hour  ago,  only  to  be  murdered  by  each  other,  just  like  few  years  ago  as  well.  Another  part  of  family?  They  could  sense  threat  reassuring  their  guess.  Yet  at  the  same  time  they  could  sense  all  sadder  emotions,  making  curse  almost  feel  bad.             Swiftly  they  changed  form  from  cat  to  human,  yet  they  didn’t  get  off  the  tree,  still  staying  somewhat  safely  on  a  branch.  There  was  bit  of  hesistance  if  they  should  speak  up,  considering  that  she  could  powerful  enough  to  exorcise  them  on  spot,  as  far  as  they  know.  Well,  going  down  was  definetly  a  bad  idea.  No,  instead  they  ripped  off  piece  of  bark  and  threw  it  at  the  other,  curled  up  on  branch  as  they  spoke.

         “ If  you’re  looking  for  anyone  or  anything  here  related  to  murders,  everything  was  already  cleaned  up  and  curse  alongside  other  are  gone,  kid.  You’re  only  wasting  your  time  here. “  With  risks  of  talking  to  shaman,  their  hands  were  raised  up  in  act  of  fake  surrender.  They’re  just  gonna  move  to  one  of  their  hosts  if  things  get  nasty.  “ And  before  you  do  anything,  I  promise  I’m  not  a  threat.  Can’t  really  hurt  you  and  neither  would  attempt.  I  know  I’d  regret  it  later. “

          For  a  while  they  kept  watching  what  was  happening,  moment  when  cursed  speech  took  too  big  of  a  toll  on  girl.  There  was  no  doubt  that  shaman  would  win,  yet  they  didn’t  feel  like  waiting  and  last  thing  they  need  her  to  be  is  knocked  out  and  bed  ridden  for  few  day.  And  if  it’s  tired  enough,  they  could  also  get  something  out  of  this  fight,  if  not,  they’ll  only  bother  to  distract  it  a  bit.  So  soon  after  that  and  heavy  sigh,  they  jumped  over  to  where  curse  was,  landing  promptly  on  it’s  head.          Luckly,  after  small  check,  curse  was  weakened  enough  for  them  to  consume  it.  Change  into  their  true form,  followed  with  still  bit  of  fight,  other  was  gone.  With  that  done,  Tomeika  was  quick  to  go  back  back  into  human  shaped  form,  to  turn  around  on  their  heel  to  shaman  and  take  few  steps,  before  kneeling  right  beside  her.          There was only  bored  glance  staring  at  hand  as  Keiko  made  the  message  clear.  No  surprise  that  the  help  wasn’t  welcomed,  but  they’re  not  risking  her  dying  and  breaking  vow  of  admitting  who’s  responsible  for  her  family’s  massacre.  

          “ Yeah,  yeah,  we’ll  talk  about  that  when  your  throat  isn’t  in  shreds.  Besides  I’m  not  saving  you,  just  helping  moron  not  to  die.  Drop  your  attitude  for  a  moment. “  Hand  wrapped  around  other’s  wrist,  raising  it  up  without  much  considering  if  that  will  made  her  state  worse  or  not.  Well,  they  are  pretty  clueless  about  that,  it  never  was  their  issue  to  worry  about.  Such  movement  was  repeated  few  times,  though  every  time  it  was  something  else - other  arm,  her  whole  body,  in  attempt  to  find  some  kind  of  first  aid  or  something.

         With  lack  of  any  proper  bag,  they  rest  Keiko  against  the  wall,  once  again  looking  up  at  her.  “ Show  me  where  you  have  some  kind  of  bandages  or  something  to  patch  you  up.  Or  you  don’t  have  anything  like  that  and  prefer  for  me  to  carry  you  out  to  someone?  I’ll  drop  you  and  disappear  moment  we’re  close  to  someone  though.  Nod  if  I  have  to  carry  you. “  Preferably  not,  but  neither  they’re  letting  Keiko  just  stay  there  if  there’s  nothing  or  no  one  to  help.

          There  was  moment  of  silence  after  the  question.  More  it  was  related  with  doubt  if  she  actually  wanted  to  hear  the  answer  from  curse.  Still,  they  really  weren’t  the  type  to  just  stay  quiet,  even  if  usually  they  were  unwanted  input,  but  on  the  time  they  were  only  one  actually  around.  And  when  it  comes  to  such  feeling  Tomeika  is  rather  more  of  specialist  in  it.

        “ Because  some  simple  actions  or  mindsets  like  being  good  or  evil  and  recognizing  which  is  which  won’t  fill  you  up  in  any  way.  Otherwise  me  and  many  other  curses  made  out  of  regret  wouldn’t  exist. “  They  sunk  deeper  into  chair  they  were  sitting  on,  back  to  their  usual  gloominess,  even  if  it  barerly  surfaced  around  shaman.  With  that  they  started  to  play  with  their  own  body  -  fingers  and  hands  melting  and  falling  apart,  before  turning  into  black  fluid  and  soon  returning  in  their  place.  Nothing  more  than  mindless  action  and  not  overthinking  the  moment,  as  they  kept  going  with  their  train  of  thoughts. 

          “ I  regret  not  doing  the  right  thing.  I  regret  not  stepping  out  of  line  for  once.  I  regret  helping  them,  even  if  it  was  a  right  thing  to  do.  Thoughts  that  feed  me  through  ages  and  no  matter  the  time  are  always  apparent. Ideas  like  that  are  only  to  be  met  with  disappointment. “  Small  sigh  escaped  them  as  they  raised  at  least  main  eyes  to  make  contact  with  Keiko’s,  position  slightly  corrected  and  head  on  their  own  hand.  ” Besides  you’re  not  entirely  good  and  it’s  bothering  you  a  lot,  doesn’t  it?  If  it  comes  to  worst  you’re  forced  to  betray  people  you  care  about  for  the  curse  you  hate.  It’ll  be  wrong  in  eyes  of  everyone  and  to  some  extend  it  makes  that  emptiness  bigger,  because  you  are  aware  you  can’t  fully  commit  to  this  so-called  good  side,  am  I  wrong? “
