For anyone who doesn’t know it, @alice-in-neverneverland is the actual best! Turns out I was doing everything right to fix the comment reply through xkit except naming the stupid comment extension with a lower case “c”!! She gave me the hint, and now I’m in business again!

So if I reply to everything you post, my apologies in advance. I’m just proud of myself and SO HAPPY to be able to reply again!
