Today it’s time for me to be tongue in cheek sarcastic but truthful! In Utah, it’s known as “Pioneer Day” and I want to wish a “Happy Pioneer Day” or “24th of July” to all my Apache, Navajo, Pueblo, Ute, Paiute and Havasupai friends who’s ancestors came across the plains in covered wagons and hand carts... wait, that doesn’t sound correct!? BUT, I want to red-pill my beloved Mormon community. That’s what I don’t understand about these holidays - no matter how benevolent they try to make them they are still colonizer celebrations and they reinforce the same old Colonialism.
