Some atheists say it is weird that Christians feels they need to refer to the 10 Commandments to decide not to do something bad. Athiests follow them just in the process of trying to be good people.

But I realized: we DON'T follow the Commandments only because God spelled them out for us. In fact, the 10 Commandments didn't exist until about 1400 BC. As Christians, we believe that the Commandments already had intrinsic motivations for following them, and God simply spelled them out when some people didn't recognize those reasons and were being bad anyway. So we Christians agree; if you are only abstaining from lying, stealing, adultery, and murder because you fear death if you don't, yeah, you really are bad and have a long ways to go. The 10 Commandments are worth living even when no one has spelled them out for us. Thank you!

Pulled myself from the Mormon cult into a world plagued with even deeper ingrained racist ideology and sexism. It's been really painful to be able to see how blind everyone is to these issues. Everyone inside of that religion is living underneath like 5 levels of the matrix and I think I'm fully out of it now. I used to think I was like, a centrist, and that that took me out of the conservative traditionalism that surrounds anyone in that church but looking back now I'm so ashamed that I even agreed with some of the political figures I was watching. Please find your way out and always look at new information with a heart open to new information if it does good to the world. I'm was so behind and catching up has been extremely painful but also beautiful. The world finally feels real. I feel like I can really love things in the world now. I always wanted too.
