Quick Tip (August 23rd)
Because this is a new year for some of you at West Virginia University, are there any students enrolled in English 101, 102, or even 103 (of course there is!)? Quick tip of the day: The IMPORTANCE of a well-developed thesis & how to write one
1.) A thesis statement is one (or two) sentences that mark the end of your introduction (usually your first paragraph).
2.) A thesis should be specific (cover only what you plan to discuss).
3.) A thesis may change as you write; make sure to read your thesis after you complete the essay (or anytime during, depending on your writing process) to double check that you stay with the same argument.
