✨SPECIAL DROP✨

These are very special bonded adolescent aquats who were found together at an estuary. Dragon bonds are created by the linking of souls and being apart at prolonged periods brings them discomfort at best and physical pain at worst. Bonds are usually created between mates or parents and hatchlings, but these two are neither of those cases. We have been monitoring them for any signs of negligence ever since their arrival a few days ago, but found nothing of concern. We are now per their request looking for potential adopters to help them experience the world.

Angler is a snarky grump with a soft spot. Axolotl is energetic and curious like a puppy.

Since Angler is oceanic and Axolotl fresh-water, there are stricter requirements for potential adopters.

Rules

Draw them together. Doing something or just posing for a photo, it doesn't matter as long as both of them are in it.

Draw or write their introduction to the oc/sona who's going to take care of them. Can be one scene for each or them together. Adopted critters don't count this time.

Draw or write how you're going to accommodate them. They are bonded so they can't be separated for long, but they are also from different biotypes with different needs.

Give them a gift. It can be anything as long as it comes from the heart.

Lastly, give them names! Axolotl is okay with any pronouns and Angler uses they/he.

I allow mixed submission, in which case there can be two drawings and at least 150 words.

All drawings must be fully colored.

Written submission must be at least 300 words.

Adopters will be chosen by the spin of the wheel so don't feel like you have to rush.

This is not limited by cooldowns.

Special Batch

July is the national disability pride month, and this special batch reflects it! Starting today, you will have the opportunity to adopt a hatchling with a disability and help them grow, both physically and emotionally.

In the first band, we have:

A male scaled aerie with a deformed tail fin, making flying uncontrollable and difficult. He's sensitive about his disability, showing aggression and defensiveness whenever someone stares at his tail too long, and generally dodges social interactions.

A female forest terran born without a part of her front leg. She's cheerful and loves running despite being a bit clumsy, and gets excited about meeting new friends and exploring.

A blind male feathered aerie. He's generally calm and introverted, hoarding and playing with anything with a nice texture, but he's happy to play when invited. His inability to see doesn't influence him too much as he's learned to rely on touch and hearing instead. (The development of his wings is normal, all feathered aeries' flight feathers grow later in their hatchlinghood.)

The second band brings:

A deaf female sea aquat. She's hesitant, shy and very, very vocal for an aquat hatchling. She can easily read both critters and humans alike and thinks rather than acts, which leads her to emotional fatigue more often than not.

A male infernal without fire. He was found abandoned far from infernal territory as an egg, which led to the underdevelopment of his glades. He's permanently cold and sleepy so there is no further recorded behavior, though visits from other hatchlings seemed to always brighten his mood.

A female scaled aerie with stunted wings. She's headstrong, curious and confident, and has been found scheming a coup with other hatchlings on multiple occasions. She doesn't seem to mind her disability in any way, and instead pushes all her focus into running, making her a worthy rival to even some terran hatchlings.

Rules for adoption

Draw a colored full-body of the hatchling.

Draw the hatchling with their potential caretaker OR your critters (if you have any).

Describe how you're going to accommodate the hatchling in at least one paragraph. It can be both physical or emotional with no wrong answers!

Pick a name for your hatchling.

If you're picked as the caretaker of a hatchling, we would appreciate an update a few weeks later, to see how they're doing and how they integrated into the family (optional).

Written submissions must be at least 300 words long.

Cooldowns don't apply.

You have until August 7th to submit.

Winners will be chosen by the spin of the wheel, so don't feel like you have to rush.
