Make beautiful Bas Relief cupcakes with lots of different colors and detailed patterns. Great for special events and people who like to decorate cakes.
Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1/4 cup milk. 1 egg. 1 tsp baking powder. 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. Pinch of salt. Food coloring various colors. Cupcake liners.
Instructions: Warm up the oven to 350F 175C and put cupcake liners in a muffin tin. Melt the butter and mix it with the sugar in a bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy. Mix the butter and sugar together well before adding the egg and vanilla extract. Mix the flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt together in a different bowl. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ones slowly, adding the milk in between each addition. Do this until the batter is smooth. For each color, put some batter into a different bowl. Put a few drops of food coloring into each bowl and mix them together until they are the color you want. Put a small amount of batter into each cupcake liner for the first color. Then add another color on top, and keep doing this until the liners are two thirds full. After the oven is hot, bake the cupcakes for 15 to 18 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean. After the cupcakes have cooled in the pan for a few minutes, move them to a wire rack to cool all the way down. Once the cupcakes are completely cool, you can use royal icing or fondant to make the designs in bas relief on the top. If you want, you can decorate it with more edible decorations or frosting. Have fun with your lovely Bas Relief cupcakes!
