L'selle likes to hang out w Karo bc her lack of impulse control and general Bard-y-ness means fun times all around. She's fast and knows nature too, so it's fun to barrel through Raincatcher Gully and crash in hamlet pubs, flicking trail mix across the table at her as they wait for food. All her business w the Scions and things make her a bit of a here-and-gone figure, too, but he tries his best to not think abt that and just take it easy in her company. Trying to plan too much is no fun.

But it's difficult for L'selle to reconcile that Karo is someone who people call the Warrior of Light, and who has affected the entire realm over. He's just an idiot, and he knows it. Change is something he's driven to create person-by-person--no polity, no documents, no war or laws. He's someone under the yolk of those things, and fights against them. Whether Karo is directly involved or not, she's definitely above those limits no matter what she assures to him.

Particularly after she returned from the First, he feels there's a lot he can't ask her. Although his fear of bringing up the wrong memories--and trying to just not be nosy--play into it, he doesn't believe he's the type of person who should know. He doesn't want to know the WoL; he wants to know Karo. But those are the same person and he can't just accept one half of her.
