Presidential Elections Reimagined
Every four years, there is an election cycle that looks something like this...
2024: U.S. citizens elect a new president by popular vote. The vote is among ten candidates (more on that in a little bit) using a single transferable voting system.
2025: During the new president’s first year of their term, all citizens have one “vote refund” that allows them to change their vote if they are unsatisfied with the behavior of the winner. If enough citizens change their votes that a different candidate wins the majority, they become the new president.
2026: U.S citizens hold an election for Presidential Interns. The election is open to anyone who meets the minimum requirements for the presidency and submits their name for the ballot. At the end of the election, the ten candidates with the most votes become the current president’s interns for the next two years.
2026-2028: The ten presidential interns job shadow the president, learn to work as a team, carry out assignments, and are followed by camera crews almost constantly. There is no time for campaigning because they have a job to do, and their best chance of winning is to DO THEIR JOB. All networks and media outlets have access to all footage. Obviously some networks will edit and twist footage to push their favorite candidate, but the unedited truth is there for anyone willing to look.
2028: U.S. citizens elect a new president by popular vote. The vote is among ten candidates using a single transferable voting system.
