[ Link ] ✿ - for a sweet kiss on the cheek.

"Navi? Navi, are you still awake?" The hero's voice cut through the darkness, and Navi opened her eyes.

"Mmm... what is it, Link?" 

The fairy wondered if the her wanted to share his concerns with her- after all, it hadn't been long since he'd awoken from his seven years of being sealed in the Sacred Realm. It was a hard adjustment for the both of them, especially with how much Hyrule had changed. 

"Navi, why do people give each other kisses?" 

Startled at the question Navi couldn't help but sit up to look at him. The boy's eyes were filled with the same childlike wonder he'd always exhibited, and for a moment, it was easy for Navi to forget the time that had passed since they'd first met. 

He hasn't grown up at all... She realized. But then, why should he have? In his eyes, he was ten years old....less than a week ago. 

This thought in mind, Navi let out a chuckle. "The Kokiri don't kiss each other much, do they?" 

"Uhn-uh. It's something I first noticed in Castle Town."

The fairy looked up at the sky as she thought; this had to come out right, or else she'd confuse him. 

"People kiss each other because...they really care about each other. It's a sign that they're really good friends, or something else.... and different kisses mean different things."

"What do you mean?" 

"Well, a kiss on the lips means that you really love the other person... any other spot isn't so...significant, I guess? It means you still like them, though." 

Next to her, the boy's form moved, and before Navi knew what was happening, she felt his lips press against her cheeks. She let out a startled noise and pulled away. 

"What was that for?!" 

Link looked confused. "Well, I really care about you! You're one of my closest friends, and even though we have a really hard task ahead of us... I know I can rely on you and we'll be able to do it."

Navi gave him a soft smile, glad that the dark hid her blush somewhat. "I care about you, too, Link. I'm glad I'm your partner- even with all the things we've had to see and do."

"Yeah, me too. ... Goodnight, Navi. "

[Link] Eyes wide in amazement the hero crouched down in front of Navi, until they were on the same eyelevel. Was this really his friend and companion? For a moment, Link only stared at her in bafflement - before laughing and reaching out to gently pet the fur on top of her head. "I didn't expect seeing you like this, for sure~! You are Navi, right?"

The little dragon was indeed Navi- and, though she was slightly embarrassed to meet her friend like this, she didn’t mind having her head pet at all. With a small snort she nodded, and for good measure, licked his nose. Link would know what that meant, right?

[Obscurum-Sicarie] "Your highness, forgive me for distudbing your calculus classes, but it seems we have some disturbances in the gardens, which require your help." Namely; ducklings.

                  ❝ Ah, no, it is fine! ❞ It was with a bright smile that the young monarch                      cast a quick glance at her tutor, blond brow raising in a silent question.                      She had been hard at work for the majority of the morning, poring over                      various formulas and equations, doing her very best to memorize them all.                      While she was a bright girl, some things came to her more easily than                      others –– calculus was not terribly difficult in her opinion, but she had other                      things that she enjoyed more.

             ❝ If I might be excuse–– ❞  When her tutor nodded (rather begrudgingly, she                 noted), Zelda gracefully rose to her feet, delicate steps taking her towards her                trusted companion. ❝ Shall we? ❞ she asked, smile toying about pink lips.              ❝ I do hope that it is nothing too dreadful, ❞ she added, tone slightly teasing:              ❝ It would be  s u c h  a shame to miss too much of my class. ❞

[ Obscurm-sicarie ] Quietly as usual the sheikah entered, barely making any sound as he approached the young woman, stopping a few feet away from her where he gave a bow. "Your carriage is prepared, Princess."

                  Despite how many times the Sheikah had approached her in                   such a manner, it still sometimes caught the monarch off-guard.                  She jumped slightly, though delicate features relaxed into a faint                  smile at realizing that it was simply Sheik. ❝ Oh, thank you, ❞ came                  her response as she gracefully rose to her feet. ❝ I am quite looking                   forward to this, ❞ she added, smile touching her almost musical voice.                  Trips from her castle tended to be few and far between, she was sorry                  to say, but that made her appreciate them all the more when she got the                  chance to go somewhere else.

[Link] "Ah! You are that poe from the temple!!", he called out, more in surprise than anything else, and pointed at Joelle. He didn't expect to meet her when came for another visit.

"Pointing is rude," she hissed, backing away from him. "You killed my sisters."

(ALSO FOR THE ◘ THINGIE— HERE HAVE DARK’S LASK VOICEMAIL TO /HIM/ ÒwÓ) “Sheik, it’s me, Dark! I know I’m late and I’m sorry - the rain is horrible, I can barely see the road! But I’ll be home in half an hour. I have a surprise for you~! *quiet mewl in the background* But I shouldn’t be phoning while driving, so I’ll end the voicemail now. I love you!”

There was one message that Sheik would never delete off of his phone. He would listen to it a lot, really, closing his eyes and pretending that it was still the first time that he’d heard it. He would pretend that it was that night again—

                                                ( —that there was still a chance                                                         that Dark might come home. )

That was where he was right now, sitting in his living, the only light coming from a little lamp that was struggling to illuminate even half of the small room. His knees were pulled up to his chest, one arm wrapped around them while the other held his phone, pressing the button to replay the message another time. He could hear it quite clearly; he didn’t know why he kept listening to it when he could already recite it word for word. 

Why did he keep listening to it, anyway? It only hurt him, it only caused that ache in his chest to grow— But, at least while he was listening to it, he could hear Dark’s voice again. It brought him some comfort at least… 

                                            Especially those last three words. 

His throat tightened again, air seeming to rasp in it as he struggled to not break down again. He had wept far too much recently, and he wasn’t about to do it again. He was, understandably, emotionally fragile at the moment, but he was refusing to fall apart again. He was stronger than that, he really was…

                                  Wrapped in one of Dark’s sweaters,                                          Sheik punched in the familiar number,                                   even though he knew that it wouldn’t get answered.

The call, of course, went to voicemail, and Sheik bit his lip as he drew a shuddering breath. This wasn’t the first time that he’d done it, and he wondered if he’d ever stop: it wasn’t healthy, per se, but he couldn’t help himself. It made things better, at least for a little while, though he couldn’t explain why. 

As the beep sounded, Sheik exhaled quietly, his voice shaking only slightly as he spoke. "You’re late, you know," he began, voice quiet. "It’s been— It’s been more than half an hour…" Shaky laughter followed that statement, the lump in his throat loosening as tears began to silently slip down his cheeks. I will not cry, I will not cry, I will not cry… "I— I miss you. When are you coming home…?" 

                                                     "I love you."

His phone fell from his hands, and he didn’t really care as it clattered to the floor below. His head was buried in his arms, which were wrapped about his knees and he fought to regain control of his emotions, his breathing shaky as he tried not to break down. He couldn’t do it, however, and so, in the gloom of the room, Sheik allowed himself to fall apart once again.

In a universe where everyone is born with numbers on their wrists counting down to when they’ll meet their soulmate, send me 00:00:00 for my muses reaction to their numbers hitting zero when they meet yours.

Sheik had, of course, expected that this day would come. It did for everyone, after all (or really, at least for the majority, bar those instances where something tragic happened). And so, it hadn’t really come as a surprise when the counter on his wrist hit zero — it had been getting lower for days and days, after all. He had been idly curious about it, though really, not as excited as some had been. The idea of meeting his soulmate almost scared him; this was going to be the person with whom he spent the rest of his life… 

                                The idea was quite daunting.

And still, when those numbers finally flickered to show zero, he didn’t see it. He didn’t see the numbers getting lower and lower and lower—

He didn’t see those numbers so much as he felt them. He knew that they were getting lower and lower, and that meant that the time was drawing nigh. A bundle of apprehension grew in his stomach, knotting itself, fear and excitement twisting together in some kind of strange dance. What was going to happen? Who was going to—

                                    Thud. 

And, with that, Sheik found himself on the ground, slightly disoriented, though he knew that the counter had hit zero. He could feel it, almost as if there had been an audible and physical ca-lunk of the counter stopping. 

         Did that mean that he had — quite literally — bumped into his soulmate?

               Scarlet eyes were raised to meet surprised red, the blond casting his mind about for something to say. 

                 "…Did yours—” The stranger was the first to speak, voice almost surprised.

                           "Yes.”

           (Sheik was surprised that his voice was even audible:                    He was quite shellshocked at the moment.) 

Still, a smile slid onto tanned features, and, though it was small, it managed to touch scarlet eyes with a warmer light. He was quite unaware that he was still seated on the ground until a hand was offered to him by this red-eyed stranger. Sheik accepted the assistance, feeling almost as if he was in a dream: he had known that this day would come, yes, but that was almost entirely different from living it. 

           The fear and apprehension had melted away almost completely,                  replaced instead with almost an excitement.
