emulators are so good actually, the fact that i can still play the first game i truly . well and truly . played non-stop as a small single digit child on my old PS1 that stopped working? so good
So not too long ago, I found an eBay listing for a poster of a page from a German video game magazine detailing Speed Freaks (Speed Punks if you're from North America), and it had these screenshots of Project SDR, Speed Freaks' early prototype. If you've ever been on the Speed Freaks Wiki at Fandom.com, you might know that SDR was not only one of the game's working titles, but it also originally had anime-style character designs until Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) had them changed to better appeal to western audiences. In these SDR screenshots are these early anime-style character designs!

In 1994, Norwegian developer Funcom founded an office in Dublin, Ireland to create console games while they focused on developing for computers. For the next few years, Funcom Dublin developed racing games such as Impact Racing and Championship Motocross Featuring Ricky Carmichael, but their most well-known game is Speed Punks, a solid kart racer that offers an enjoyable challenge for those who prefer a little more focus on skill than luck.

Is there anyone, besides me, who remembers Monica from the Play Station videogame, “Speed Punks”? Does anyone remember “Speed Punks” at all? I decided to draw one of favorite characters from the game, Monica, but in my own little style :-) I think I captured her “I don’t care” attitude quite nicely, even though the shade of brown I used is not the original brown I wanted. What do you all think?
