Like, getting an WHEA Uncorrectable Error kind of BSOD. For those not knowing, an WHEA Uncorrectable Error is caused by a hardware failure. My laptop, an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-54 that I've gotten a few years ago as an Xmas present, can still power on and log in, but only for a limited time until the BSOD hits again. If I don't reply to anything, you'll know why.
I know some people have seen the news recently and may be doubtful of it. To the uninformed, Google Docs has started using AI to find "inappropriate" and "problematic" content, scraping your documents and deleting it. I know some people are unsure if this is real or think this is not going to affect them.
I regret to inform you that this is real.
As I was on a call with some writers and we were moving our documents as a precautionary measure, one person discovered entire pages missing that they did not delete themselves. This is happening to us, it's not a hoax or a rumor, it's happening right now. You need to move everything if you want to preserve it.
If you're a writer with writer mutuals, please reblog this so they know. I rarely write on Google Docs anymore, but I started my fanfics on there, and I would be devastated if I lost works more than ten years old because people decided marketing appeal is more important than creative freedom.
THE ENTIRE WEST IS AT RISK OF BEING PUT UP FOR SALE AND I AM BEGGING YOU TO CALL YOUR SENATORS
Trump’s budget bill has many, many things in it, but buried amongst it is the MILLIONS OF ACRES OF PUBLIC LAND FOR SALE.
This is the entirety of the Arizona state forests, the entire Cascades mountain range. Swathes of pristine desert around the national parks in Utah. On the doorstep of Jackson Hole.
THIS BILL IS BIG, BUT IT CAN BE AMENDED AND ABSOLUTELY MUST NOT PASS AS IS please.
If you have ever enjoyed the wilderness, we stand to lose it all forever.
CALLING your senators - NOT JUST IN THE WEST. ALL SENATORS, is CRUCIAL.
Outdoor alliance has a great resource for reaching out.
The Senate’s spending package could offer up nearly 300 million acres of public lands for sale—a vast area that includes nearly 100,000 mile
I don’t have a huge following but please, everywhere I have ever loved, the forests I grew up playing in, the land I got married on, is all at risk and I am begging.
EDIT: I HAVE ADDED A LOT MORE INFORMATION IN A REBLOG THIS MORNING, WOULD APPRECIATE YOU CHECKING OUT THIS VERSION!!!
As a Washington State citizen (not gonna tell exactly in WA where I live), this is concerning. If you live in WA, or any of the other states where this budget bill would affect those millions of acres of public land, call up your senators to help make sure that this bill doesn't get passed.
I preordered this baby months back, and after months of waiting (during which my dad sadly died from a stroke in April. God rest his soul), it has finally arrived. Also, I ordered an A/V-modded Atari 2600 Jr. off of eBay so that I could have something to use the new controller on.
So apparently, Elder Custard Cookie doesn't think too highly of his great-nephew. And to think that this mean, corrupt, and selfish old curmudgeon is Premier Custard Cream Cookie's younger brother!
And Custard III's just excited to meet members of the family other than his papa.
If anything, Elder Custard is the half-baked one, not this eager child. I could imagine how disappointed Premier Custard Cream must be at his younger brother, not only for abusing his political power and having tried to steal the Soul Jam, but also for disregarding his grandson.
This is a screen-snip of an old Willy Wonka candy commercial (with Mark Sweet as Willy Wonka) for Peanut Butter Oompas and Super Skrunch, which were the first candy products sold under the Wonka brand, back in the 1970s.
The Peanut Butter Oompas, which came before the fruity chewy candies called Oompas, were essentially like Peanut Butter M&M's but much larger (see image above) and the peanut butter and chocolate are layered, one over the other.
And wouldn't you believe it? Peanut Butter Oompas first came out in 1972, a few years before the release of Reese's Pieces!
From what I read up, the Peanut Butter Oompas were discontinued in 1983.
It's a shame that these candies were before my time. I would have really wanted to try them!
For the third member of Deep Cut, Big Man, I have this in my head where his full name is Biggs Manta, and that "Big Man" was a nickname.
Also, according to splatoonwiki.org, despite being a manta ray, Big Man resembles more like an eagle ray, whose mouth is on the underside of their body. Plus, eagle rays have more prominent pelvic fins at the back of their bodies (something manta rays don't have), and Big Man has those acting as his feet. Plus, Big Man is colored like an eagle ray. So, with that info in mind, I'm also thinking that either his mother or his father might be an eagle ray and that he is part-eagle ray.
So, you know how in the games that anything you smash (save for the bonus boards) become un-broken again, along with having a rewind feature?
The way I see it, the company that runs the Horizon Festival is a front for some super-secret scientific R&D organization that develops technology capable of manipulating time and space. They use the Horizon Festival as a means of testing this unusual technology, gather data on its usage by Horizon's drivers, and make refinements to it as they see fit.
I know it sounds ridiculous, ludicrous even, but hey, I thought it's fun to come up with theories on why there's a rewind feature in the universe of Forza Horizon. They even acknowledged it in FH3.
And I'm hooked with it! So far, at the time of this writing, I managed to beat Frye in Site 2. She was not easy. I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. I haven't played any online matches yet though.
@robot-wars Not sure if you've already seen those, but read this post if you can find the time to.
In the first five issues of Robot Wars Magazine from back in the day, there were two-part comics based on the fictional backstories of the House Robots.
Issue 1 - The Origin of Dead Metal - Part 1 - Part 2
Issue 2 - The Origin of Matilda - Part 1 - Part 2
Issue 3 - The Origin of Sir Killalot - Part 1 - Part 2
Issue 4 - The Origin of Sgt. Bash - Part 1 - Part 2
Issue 5 - The Origin of Shunt - Part 1 - Part 2
I thought these comics were pretty cool, you know what I mean? Too bad we yanks never got them when Robot Wars was first being broadcast in the U.S. But, at least someone went to the effort of scanning them and putting them online for all to see!
And if you ask me, they should do a TV miniseries based on the House Robots' fictional backstories. Even if they have no intent of bringing back Sgt. Bash, Mr. Psycho, Growler, or Cassius Chrome, I think it would be cool to see.
DISCLAIMER: I take no credit for the creation of the comics that the above links go to, or for the scans that were made of them.
