After 4 times up and down to the end of the canal, I stopped for a breather and asked my gal to snap this. The disclaimer on the Speed Hound says it's not a life saving device but I beg to differ, it made a nice pillow haha! Went for another 4.
Backstroke!! Breathe!! Relax!! My daughter was shooting this and she yelled out "You're crazy mama!"
1st canal swim of the season (yes, I'm THAT crazy neighbor). Air temp 83F, water temp is what I'd call tits freezing cold! Ice cold water hit my face and hyper ventilation followed soon after. On the plus side, got the suit on all by myself in record time, even zipped it myself.

Ah, Fall is here...
Most everyone living in the northish parts are thinking "Ah, scarves, boots, sweaters, layering!" when it comes to fall wardrobe. Me? Yes definitely! But also "it's wetsuit weather at last!! And time to buy a new long sleeve run top!!" To celebrate my upcoming runs in the cool (my fav) weather, I bought a techno Nike top at half price. It's suppose to adjust itself to your body temp. I'm FASCINATED! As for wetsuit swimming, I've always been ultra worried about drunk boaters mowing me down. Unwittingly, I found a flotation device invented by an Ironman to help with that. It's a fluorescent strap-to-your-waist floater, like a buoy. Comes with a waterproof bag for your stuff. Yes, of course I bought it! And sent the link to my tri buddies.
