anon asked: “You don’t know how to use the coffee maker and I always help you but I saw you using it by yourself and you still ask for my help what are you doing??” AU
notes: as stated in my description, please be specific on ship / fandom when requesting or else it will be written as a speedy^3 drabble. // anon, if you’re seeing this, i am so sorry that it took forever.
Jesse had been asking Wally for help with the coffee maker every time she visited S.T.A.R. Labs. At first it was because she actually had no idea how to work the coffee maker since it was so different than the ones on her own Earth. But now she asked for help just to be close to him. See, Jesse was pretty sure that she had romantic feelings for the other speedster. So she kept asking for help, citing that she would never figure out how the machine worked.
However, when Wally sped in one day, a blur of yellow and red, he spotted Jesse and Thea in the kitchen. Each woman held a coffee cup. Jesse took Thea’s for refills. She used the machine perfectly fine. Neither woman noticed him, just enveloped in their own little bubble. Wally didn’t think much of it--maybe Thea was just better at explaining things than him.
But the next day, Jesse asked him for help with the coffee maker. She held out her cup, saying the machine buttons wouldn’t respond to her.
“But I saw you get coffee for Thea yesterday. Why do you need my help?”
Jesse was startled by the question. Her tongue darted out, licking her lips out of nervousness.
“Oh...”
“Oh?”
“Yeah... I hoped you wouldn’t...” she trailed off, fiddling with her hands. Fingers flew near the speed of sound, turning her whole hand into a blur.
“That I wouldn’t...” he said, trying to get her to continue.
“That you wouldn’t notice.”
Thea’s head popped in, “Jesse are you done asking him yet? It’s been a second.” She spotted Jesse and Wally, each standing there awkwardly. “He found out, didn’t he?”
“Found out what?” Wally sad, turning to face Thea.
“That I keep asking you for help because I have a major crush on you. Thea’s been teasing me about it for weeks now.” She smiled at him, “I actually never needed your help, the machines here are much simpler than my own Earth’s.”
Wally’s mouth fell open in shock. “You like me?”
“Yeah.”
“So do I,” Thea said. She shrugged, “We were all sharing.”
Jesse and Wally each burst into giggles.
“If it means anything to you,” Jesse said, “I like you too.”
“Same,” Wally added.
“What a trio we are,” Thea said. “Jesse, dump your cold coffee, us three are going on a date.”
I saw that speedycubed the floor is lava post, and I was wondering if you had any headcanons for that?
yes. yes i do:
jesse is the one to start it the first time they ever play.
wally is immediately on board with the idea, running onto the furniture.
thea takes a bit more convincing, but she eventually joins in.
it starts to spill out into their patrols.
they’d just be taking down baddies or looking out for the city & suddenly wally’s voice will come over the coms. “the floor is lava, get to high ground unless you want to get burned.”
everyone else hates that they do it, but they don’t complain all that much as it doesn’t interfere with getting the job done.
their villains don’t question it, just thinking that this is how the city’s going to be from now on.
if they ever move in together, they arrange their furniture for not only maximum efficiency for their superhero lifestyle, but also for how best to play the floor is lava.
guys i said i would do it & i did it!! the first chapter of the first part of mistakes were made is now live! go read it if you'd like. it doesn't have much of the ships yet, but that is coming next chappie.
angelika is currently in university studying archaeology. ever since she was little, she was obsessed with dinosaurs. she knows that she’s going to be digging up dinosaurs as soon as she can, even if she has to start at the bottom by giving tours at the new york city dinosaur museum.
sam is an inventor at heart. in fact, she’s already started her own small business to sell her inventions. she sees any problem and then creates a product for it. the only problem is that she sometimes lacks the technology to fully realize some of her more ambitious projects.
jon is limited in his career opportunities as he is a high school dropout. he loves technology and is able to work most computer systems on an above-average scale. but because of his lack of a diploma, jon is most likely going to try and get his ged and then join with sam in her inventions business as the mechanical side.
as the youngest, jason-dean norman has the least idea of what he wants to do. all he knows that he wants to do something with music. he loves singing and has been taking voice lessons since he begged thea for them (“she’s the one with the money!” he had said in defense) at age ten. he’s also been learning different instruments in school for three years. so yeah--jason-dean norman is going into music.
