I’ve got a special announcement regarding Rainbott’s channel and an event we have planned to host soon!
Hosted by @rainbott and @myemyehere on Sunday July 27, a handful bunch the Joybott team will be doing a live stream on Rainbott’s channel. This will include several voice actors and artists from both indie projects. We will talk and draw and we would love to have y’all attend the stream and doodle with us.
We appreciate all the support you be given us over the years with welcome to dreamworld, spellmania, Eoe and GDF and all the others. Rain is super excited but nervous due to the time it’s been since they’ve last done a live stream. We hope to see you there! Even just for a little bit.
Hi. y'all! Just a lil review of the recant episode of 'Welcome to Dreamworld' and a few headcanons during and after the finale. Let's begin!
The update opens up with Star Light and Morris having a late night talk show discussing the subject of souls.
How they've been documenting them and how they resemble stars and create new souls like Ribbon Dancer/Ridley.
I WAS RIGHT ABOUT THE TWINBLOS!
This catches the attention of Doctor Hayes (head scientist in charge of US robotics) and her boss who are studying souls, life on other planets, robots that are able to think for themselves (Rainbott's other shows), and other government stuff! To understand more about souls, they decide to have a talk with the Dreamworld crew.
Military Transport Vehicle 51 (which is a play on Area 51) is where our favorite animatronics are being held captive (for crying out loud Glory and Rex are in there). Turns out the crew hijacked a government satellite to broadcast their show to the greater galaxies and are aware of other lifeforms. Despite their predicament they do answer Dr. Hayes questions.
Star goes over the history of Dreamworld Entertainment: the creation, animatronics, murders, and Litho's plan to open a gateway to the spirit world to gain immortality.
Turns out Litho's dead now! They tricked him into believing they made a machine as a gateway to the internet, trapped him inside, and smashed it!
Like Morris said: It was extremely satisfying.
I bet it played out like how Eda, King, and Raine stomped on Belos from The Owl House
Ribbon Dancer/Ridley mentions Xavier and how he was the one who started Litho's reign of terror and how he was overjoyed to know Litho was gone (and something about the Sun hatching or whatevs). We learn that Xavier isn't human but is made out of stars. This raises the question if all The Great Travelers are made of stars.
Sara got her body back and is the due to Litho possessing it the whole time! In Cheers own words: Apparently, it's a lot easier to hop back into your human body if it wasn't stabbed or crushed. I honestly thought Lewis would be the first to return to his body.
Which most likely means Sara is the only human to return to normal (for now)! Don't worry Sara doesn't get a out of jail card.
The group found her in the Millie animatronic and she's traveling with Hazel, Marissa (her mother), Allison, and the defunct animatronics visiting the families and communities effected by Litho and to make up for all the damage she caused.
We also learn that the defunct animatronics plan to retire after Hazel grows up.
Turns out immortality is real and the souls in the facility have the choice to stay or go whenever they please.
We learn that Astra and The Collector (Agnes) were made by multiple souls that were unstable and forced together (similar to The Cluster from Steven Universe) and have retired. Honestly, I think Audrey is still in the Astra animatronic and just wasn't captured.
Winnie refused to apologize for his actions or move on to the next life. It is unknown where he is and the only ones willing to reach out to him are Lolli and Melody. Which begs the question if Wiatt knows Winnie is his grandfather? I can see Wiatt being furious at his grandfather for hurting his loved ones and for his crimes. Also, how does Winnie feel now that he may know Wiatt was his 'granddaughter'. I also believe the fact being related would be hidden from the public to protect Wiatt; I watch a lot of ID channel, crime shows, and true crime and it's heartbreaking knowing people being attacked just because of a family member or because they knew the person.
Oliver and Damien are living together and formed a detective agency dealing with the paranormal. Makes sense due to both being able to see souls and stuff. Damien went as far as to break into a government building for Oliver, how romantic!
Now with Litho gone his influence has been exposed and I guess the town is like Gravity Falls after Weirdmageddon and are now aware of magic/sci-fi.
Celio along with Damien and Oliver visit Dreamworld frequently (no, duh, Oliver's sibs are still stuck inside there) and it appears Mr.Eric has feelings for Celio. New Ship acquired.
Wiatt is now head of operations in the facility and to my shock is now The Collector, which means he died (did a double take when I heard that). The group redesign The Collector animatronic to make Wiatt feel more at home. I don't think Wiatt is the only soul in the animatronic just the one in charge.
We see Rex right eye is damaged similar to Mike's eye after his father hit him with a bottle after revealing he was trans ftm. Whatever happened to Rex after we last saw him was serious! It appears the creation of souls is through connections and like Mike said treating others like they matter and not a science experiment.
Norman appears to rescue the animatronics (what's his beef with Star?) and he himself is still an animatronic and former head of Watchful Eye Toys. Dr.Hayes mentioned 'years' a lot, just how long ago did they kill Litho and been animatronics? I think Dreamworld has been in operation for maybe five years, Wiatt's investigation happened during the third year, since he mentioned working for one year.
Once everyone escapes Dr. Hayes boss to have the case resolved and focus more on someone named Dr. Collins and weaponized droids (because a soul stealing demon wasn't enough!!!)
The episode concludes and we'll see the Finale in August.
HEADCANONS & THOUGHTS
Won't lie I'm a little sad that were heading towards the end, and we missed so much while Wiatt wasn't filming, but it's @rainbott 's series and we shall respect their choices.
If you remember from the first episode it opened with a desktop opening the files of Dreamworld employees: Andrew, Audrey, Hayden, Lisa, Pen, and Wiatt (not pictured above, I got tired). We know Wiatt is about to die due to him being the new Collector. Andrew, Audrey, Pen, and Lisa deaths were seen, so it's likely Hayden is dead too (maybe sharing the Astra animatronic with Audrey).
I think it may have been a week or month since Litho's death due to Rex's eye, it should be repaired by now or in the process of being repaired.
The town Dreamworld Facility is in is now aware of Litho and missing loved ones. The only reason they can't go public about it is because they'll look ridiculous if they mention souls possessing animatronic, demons, and etc. It's like Cheer said they couldn't involve the police because of that. The world wouldn't understand so the town keeps it to themselves.
Like Cheer mentioned above about Sara being able to return to her body. Lewis, Eric, Mike, Carly, James, Jake, John, Andrew, Pen, and Lisa suffered horrific deaths so it might take time for their bodies to heal since Allison said to Star 'he wasn't dead yet'. But, by the time they return to their human bodies for example Carly was thirteen when she died and when she becomes human again, she'll be around fifteen or sixteen but physically appears the same way she died!
Sara is not off the hook for her crimes! She won't get arrested (even after what she did to Lewis, Ben, and Liz) but she will be exiled from the town after the last animatronic is returned to their human form. It's been hinted that she and Marissa become a couple but keep it a secret to protect her and Hazel and the Dreamworld crew are the only ones aware of this. Sara and the Defunct animatronics make their peace realizing Sara never would've done those things had they never bullied her! Man, if I was killed and transformed into animatronic or had someone I cared for go through that and found out the person who caused all this mess was the first to return to their human form, I would be so peeved! I beat when she went to speak to Alyssa's family Whiskers attacked her.
Rex: What happened to you?
Sara covered in scratches: Your cat doesn't like me.
Speaking of punishment since Xavier was the cause of everything, he is sentenced by the other Great Travelers to help restore everyone's human bodies and aid Damien and Oliver to make sure nothing like this happens again!
Finding out Wiatt died made me depressed, I knew he would be unalive and placed in an animatronic, but still that's messed up man. Also, Star what the heck? You're afraid of spiders and now your 'impressed' your boyfriend who risked his life for you and others is now a giant robot spider? It's a good thing Wiatt loves you! Wiatt most likely is the last human to return to normal.
I think Wiatt's animatronic color scheme will represent the different animatronics/floors of Dreamworld.
Here's a scenerio I thought of when Wiatt found out Star was impressed by his new form.
Wiatt: LEWIS BRIGHT! I spent years trying to find out what happened to you after you went missing, free you and everyone else from this facility, fought a demon, died, and transformed into a spider animatronic only to find out you find me 'impressive' NOW?!
Star: I can explain.
Everyone else FACEPALM.
An hour later.
The Collector's front arms are crossed and turned away from Star. Star gives a heartfelt apology. The Collector turns around.
Sunny: LEWIS BRIGHT, TELL ME YOU DID NOT FIND MY BROTHER 'IMPRESSIVE' BECAUSE HE'S HOUSED IN THE COLLECTOR'S BODY!
Star (shocked) : SUNNY?
Sunny: That's right! I'm in control now so you better start explaining!
Hayden: HAHA, BUSTED!
Sunny: DON'T YOU DARE START, HAYDEN! DON'T THINK WE HAVEN'T SEEN YOU SIMP ON BUG PEN!
Everyone: OOH!
Sunny is my oc from my fanfic 'Star, Night, and Sun Shine' . For more info on Sunny click here: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
I think Damien sent Norman to retrieve the others because if it were Wiatt or Oliver, they would've KILLED everyone for taking their loved ones!
Dr.Hayes decided to visit Dreamworld to understand souls better, help the animatronics, and souls return human (Norman and Wiatt forbid Dr.Hayes's boss or the other government people to came after the kidnapping).
Despite everything that happened Dreamworld Facility is still running and some souls whose bodies have past decided to turn into animatronics due to wanting to still live and experience life. Watchful Eye merged with Dreamworld facility and both watch out for other supernatural occurrences.
Winnie is in the vents watching over everyone.
Rain stated that the worlds in their series were connected so we might see these characters again soon.
Okay, gonna end this here before it gets too long.
Again, thank you Rainbott for creating an amazing series that was not only entertaining, but I got to meet some amazing people. BYE!
So with the recent announcement that Welcome to Dreamworld, Epilogue of Endings, Galactic Defense Force, Spellmania, and seemingly Heroes of Destiny, are all in fact connected, I decided to go over how, exactly, they're connected.
Let's go.
So first off, the simplest connection to make was WTDW and Spellmania. Mike is canonically a fan of the Spellmania comic in universe, so we can just like. Note that. Easy.
For HOD, I noted it the same as Spellmania, because that's the only way I could only think of it working. I doubt that the horses are just hiding in a mountain somewhere. I'll be honest I haven't read HOD so if I'm missing something please tell me.
Next was WTDW and EOE, which was also pretty easy, because I had suspected this connection for a while now. As said on this page of the official WTDW website, Litho came from a seemingly post-apocalyptic future, fucked with soul magic, and got sent back in time. We don't get a lot of details about his time, but he says:
"The world isn't as rich as it used to be ages ago. The forest floors are coated by layers of soot and ash, the sky is red whenever it isn't grey, and valleys where nature had once thrived were now known as the wastelands."
But now I don't even have to grasp at straws! We have confirmation!
(Image is not the best quality but you get the idea)
Which leads nicely into my next two points:
GDF takes place at the same time as EOE, just in space.
We know from the EOE pilot that some humans fled into space when everything went to shit, so it's not impossible that they found alien life.
2. The existance of alternate timelines/universes.
Litho's portal was initially meant to go to an alternate universe, but he fucked it up and went back in time. Remember when I said Spellmania and HOD were easy and simple?
fuck that
My personal theory is that Spellmania and HOD are both seperate universes, not fully connected to the main one. For Spellmania at least, the existance of the comic can be explained by either some sort of universal anomaly, or, the funnier option, Solo somehow managed to make and publish the comic across dimensions.
I have many more thoughts, but for now, this will suffice.
