“and if you say yes.. you have to stay my best friend. forever. officially.” serine shifted around a little as her knee was starting to get a little sore from the rough ground she had kneeled down on, to make her friend this very special proposal. it wasn’t at all planned and this not fancy at all - it actually just happened when the two of them spotted one of those old school chewing gum automat things with little presents inside. when serine opened up her little present, what she found was a small little pink ring - cheap as hell - but cute in a certain way. “so what do you say. will you be my best friend forever?”

all she could do was to hold back her laughter, her eyes crinkling into crescents as she stared at the girl in front of her, kneeling on the ground - pretty much like a marriage proposal. scrunching up her nose, she looked at the gift in the small box, bursting out into laugh while throwing her head back. with a smug grin plastered across her face, she nodded eagerly a few times and slipped the ring on her pinky finger while wiggling her brows for a few seconds. “yes! i don’t think there’s anything that could separate the both of us, right? forever your partner in crime and in everything -- but i got no ring for you...”

serine was a good person. they’d met through colleagues and other friends. rappers, mainly. hyuntae was confident to say they had things in common. just some but it was enough to assume they were well acquainted with each other. but the attribute he liked the most about the female was her dedication to music. she played about 5 or 6 instruments, and she does so with ease. today he offered to be her stooge because she needed some stuff moved around. he volunteered even without knowing how much work he would have to do but he’s starting to be out of breath. he was thinking mainly books. but there’s also a drum set which was heavy all by itself, then there’s apparatus she used for web video documentations. he doesn’t completely understand that but he finds it pretty cool. he liked to watch videos on how things work often like the visual guy that he is after all.

he remembers one of his professors say he liked to pick on hyuntae in class because he was always smiling. he was his favorite and hyuntae was his as well. it was his disposition, the elder claims. there really isn’t much to say back about the comment because it’s true. he was always smiling. half the time it was a front but it had been embedded into him. that’s why he’s always had the stupid face that gives you the impression that he wants to do all the work.
