Olympic Peninsula Conditions Update:
This past week has been the first week in awhile that we have had nearly all of the primary rivers on the Peninsula in shape and fishing well. Conditions are everything in steelheading and a number of nice fish came to hand this week on the swing...but more on that in coming reports. Here is how everything is looking as of today, Friday 2/26:
Bogachiel - 28.03 ft, 3-4 ft of visibility below the confluence with the Calawah, 1-2ft of visibility above the Calawah, 4+ ft of visibility on the upper river.
Calawah - 801 cfs, 5+ ft of visibility throughout system.
Hoh - 2640 cfs, 2-4 ft of visibility, with visibility improving as you move upriver
Sol Duc - 3-5+ ft of visibility throughout the system.
Queets - 3980 cfs, 1-3 ft of visibility
For the most part, every major OP river is in shape right now, with water clarity only being a concern on certain stretches of rivers due to recent slides.
As always, don’t hesitate to swing by the shop or give us a ring if there is anything we can do to help make your trip a success!
