Okay, here’s what I wanna know:
i've got dozens of little gems that i could share, but the only one i can share without wanting to go off and shoot myself is this: there was a kid that i really hated that was in the grade below me. i hated his voice, i hated that he liked the same books as me, i hated that even though he had a speech impediment, he was smarter than me. Our middle school has a halloween party every year, it's incredibly boring and you can either bob around on the little concrete pad labeled 'dance floor' or you can play poker. i don't even remember what started it, but somehow i ended up playing poker with that kid and having a cursing contest. i ran out of curses pretty quickly and started throwing out impressive sounding gobbledeegook. long story short, he called me out on my bull, and told me that i was a pretentious piece of dog crap in french.

it's still the default ringtone. i'm too lazy to change it
3. How’d you end up here anyway? What made you get a tumblr?
the person that tagged me was always mentioning posts she had seen and bits of information and trivia about shows that had shown up on her dash. she and a lot of my other friends referenced tumblr constantly and i felt really left out, so i made myself a tumblr account.

6. Do you have any keepsakes from when you were little?
a lot of my clothes and costumes were handed down to my siblings. every day i see my little brother wearing my old jeans or my little sister wearing one of my old dresses. i've also got a lot of old books. most of my old toys went to my little sister but i've still got a teddybear that i got when i was 8ish and a purple unicorn my grandmother gave me.
7. If picking a fandom was a big decision in life & you could only be in one, which would you be in? Why?
Buffy the vampire slayer. it doesn't seem to have many people in it anymore since it's been over for so long, but it was an amazing show. it was basically 7 seasons of 'screw gender roles' and it showed all different kinds of love and forgiveness. it's still hilarious and applicable today and it makes me laugh and cry and yell more than any other show.
8. What are you best at?
i dunno. i can't really cook, i'm not a very dependable friend or a good host, i don't have an exceptional blog, my art isn't anything to sneer at but it's not really anything special either.
i'm good at taking a space and making it mine. i bring my backpack or a knapsack of snacks and a book or two and a few things that i might need with me most of the time and if i know that i'm going to be stuck in a room for more than an hour, i pick a corner of the room and set up my own area. i can be surrounded by people that i don't know or that i dislike and i won't let myself be uncomfortable because i convince myself that i own that portion of the room and no one can mess with me while i'm there. i actually like that about myself.
9. Favorite item in your room?
my canopy. i built it myself with sticks of bamboo and scarves. it's held up by ductape, prayers and threats. it's also got a lot of my jewelry and several of my watches hanging from it. i'm really proud of it and i swear to chuck, if it falls on me one more time i will set it on fire.
10. Favorite childhood memory?(stealing from the person who tagged me. don’t give a hoot. this is always interesting to me. fight me about it.)
christmas, when i was in 7th or 8th grade. my siblings and i sleep around the tree on christmas eve and santa (my older sister, shh, don't tell jonathan or tia that) brings in and lays out the gifts during the night. then we sort them out in the morning. Well that morning, i was at the far end of the room and my brother robert tossed me a gift that hit me in the mouth. i spent the first few hours of christmas morning in the ER, watching cartoon network and having my lip stitched shut. everyone was really calm and nice and pleasant to eachother for the rest of the day. robert gave me half his candy and he let me have the first container of popcorn he made with the stovetop popper he'd gotten.
11. Favorite book/movie/song/cd? Any reasoning behind that?
i love the lord of the rings. i can't quote the books or name the valinar and i'm sure there are tolkenites that would burn me at the stake for my mispronunciation of eleven words, but i really like the books and i love the movies. i love seeing the behind the scenes for them (9 discs for the movies, 1 for the symphony and 1 for the making of gollum) and i watch them once a year with my family around thanksgiving. they are what make me want to make movies. and since i've seen them so many times, i just feel comfy at home watching them. they mean so much to me, more than harry potter, more than batman or the avengers, if i invite you to watch the appendices with me and my family, that makes you family too. and if it hurts like hell that no one outside of my family is as into the appendices as i am or that none of my friends can stand to watch more than a segment of a single disc before they get bored, well that's beside the point.
