We all talk about smart statement givers but she truly was out here being actively swallowed by the buried and went “i think the fuck not.” nothing but respect for MY favourite character with more than one braincell

10. Episode that hooked you.

it is at this point that i have to make a terrible confession. i listened to the first 100 episodes of tma in a week while i had the flu, laying in the dark with a fever and playing papa’s sandwicheria on coolgames dot com. to this day i have a pavlovian response to hearing the magnus theme song that makes me think of sandwhiches and shitty graphics. this is to say that i was hooked from the start

i'd definitely recommend archive 81 for urban fantasy! it's pretty subtle in season 1 but it really amps up after that! forewarning that it's got a lot of horror elements, though.

horror as in scarier than TMA? i didn’t find TMA particularly scary due to the structure of the show.

11. if you got the chance to play at a “celebrity” DM’s table (e.g. matt mercer, griffin mcelroy), what kind of character would you design and why?

oh lord. you know i gotta make an absolute goof character. not that i don’t already make predominantly goof characters, but. tbh my favorite flavor of character are ones that are surface level goofy/almost cartoonish but have kinda sad backstories or one droplet of dramatique™ flavoring—so probs one along those lines… i just like getting the two-for-one “goof and oof” deals on my characters, what can i say

15. the most creative solution to a problem / encounter / puzzle that you’ve thought of?

oh. hm. i mean. it isn’t the most creative fix to a puzzle but. in a side campaign we were scouting out a small town where treasure was supposedly hidden, we go to a monastery to scout yadda yadda yadda someone in the party decides our best cover story to earn their trust is to be a traveling circus (…..hm) + my wimpy tiefling warlock, my twink govt clerk fancyboy, gets designated the company strongman. 

meanwhile, my dude levi’s (short for “Leviathan of the Abyss, Conquerer of Light, Drinker of Blood and Slayer of Heroes”) whole schtick is that he’s the black sheep in a family filled with evil-doing goths + his patron wants him to live up the family potential. plus, these monks aren’t going to just let us take their treasure, even if they tell us where to find it. so we, well. have one circus-fanatic monk guide us to the spot (the treasure was covered by a massive boulder), wow this monk with some circus acts, and then levi may or may not have hulked out (thanks to his patron) as part of his strongman act and dropped the boulder on him. two for one deal—pleased the patron + got the money, though levi himself was Not Pleased O_o

17. describe a near-death experience.

hahahahahahaha oh man. in our main campaign my human cleric was one of two party members that escaped alive on a magical artifact raid—we’ve got kind of a ~BoB-magical-artifacts-to-defeat-evil-and-stop-the-apocalypse quest going, and we were doing a puzzle room in order to retrieve my character’s (rubelle “uhhhh, MD?”) artifact. needless to say, we figured out the puzzle a bit too late, our first and second in command died, our tank fell off a cliff and nearly died but was MIA, and the final encounter came down to me and @wlw-kate-kane‘s characters (both squishy casters) standing on a ledge while rubelle did defensive magic against hordes of minion and boss monsters and our wizard eris casted phantom steed for dear life. we got out with like, a collective 10 HP between the two of us or something. i have never sweated as much during a session as i did during that fucking encounter
