Experience a fusion of Caribbean and Japanese flavors with these zesty pan-fried sardine sushi rolls. The spicy Caribbean jerk seasoning pairs perfectly with the freshness of the pineapple salsa, creating a burst of tropical flavors in every bite.
Ingredients: 8 sardine fillets. 1 cup sushi rice, cooked. 1/4 cup Caribbean jerk seasoning. 2 tablespoons olive oil. 1/4 cup diced pineapple. 1/4 cup diced red bell pepper. 1/4 cup diced red onion. 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro. 2 tablespoons lime juice. Salt and pepper to taste. Nori sheets.
Instructions: Marinate sardine fillets in Caribbean jerk seasoning for 30 minutes. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Pan-fry marinated sardine fillets for 2-3 minutes on each side until cooked through. In a bowl, mix diced pineapple, red bell pepper, red onion, cilantro, lime juice, salt, and pepper to make salsa. Lay out a sheet of nori and spread a thin layer of sushi rice over it. Place a sardine fillet on the rice. Top the sardine with a spoonful of pineapple salsa.
