It's weird that spiders have such a fearsome reputation, because they're maybe the only animal where it's not a problem if you unexpectedly find one in your house.
Like, mice? that's a problem, they could have fleas and they could eat your foods. dog? significant problem if it's a tame dog (will shit in your house if you don't remove it), HUGE problem if it's a feral dog. Moth? Fine in moderation, but its offspring might be eating my socks. Beetle? Could also be eating my socks. Bird of any kind? problem for both you and the bird. Fleas? massive problem in and of themselves. Even totally harmless non-arthropods like a snail or a lizard are gonna be a problem if they die in your house, which they will eventually if they live there.
But spiders? They're 99% harmless, they're predators so they're protecting your food/clothes rather than eating them, they don't shit in noticeable quantities, they don't carry any notable diseases, and even if they die they just leave a little dry shell you can sweep up.
