(spider anon) Ooooh, okay! I think finding another server for my interests might be a good idea! I'll try looking for a spider or reptile/herping community. I think for the servers we have in common... i'll try talking to her first but if it gets to be too much, I'll probably take a step back. I think I can also try soft blocking? But i'll try to communicate first. We've known each other since high school so i feel sad to think of dropping her friendship. so maybe space might help? I'm thinking joining a server she's not in might also be a good idea like the ones you suggested. So Thank you Sae.
Your welcome! and honestly all of that sounds good. Discussing with your friend how you feel is really important & as you said, if it gets too much you can always take a step back. Sometimes friendships need a break/reboot. I think it's good to have a space too for your interests/hobbies so you can make friends with people who like the same stuff.
I'm the spider anon: Thank you. What do I do about the discord servers we both are in?
Hm, depending on the server how active you both are, etc. It might be better to block and/or talk to the team running the servers. But be aware too people may pick "sides". Or you could feel uncomfortable with the possible interaction. Its why the next suggest I think is slightly better. Find servers (new ones) for you to be in that they aren't in. Look for communities more based around your interests. (Examples "spider keeping"<- I don't know if this is a server but you can look for spaces that might be more positive. Like a reptile group/server. ) Find a place they aren't in, and if you like the server you'll naturally be more likely to post thus you'll start to feel like you belong, and you'll become more active. Bright side to this is you'll have a space you'll feel more welcome in & depending on how active you are, it might give the mutual servers a small break. Which means less likely drama will be engaged. Edit: you can look for "herping" servers as well. (if they are a thing) Herping according to google: "is the act of searching for amphibians or reptiles. The term, often used by professional and amateur herpetologists. " <- while it doesn't mention spiders, I think a communities of folks who like amphibians, and reptiles might be more accepting of spider keepers. ^-^ I learnt about "herping" from snake discovery so it should be something you can search for. If I can think of other search terms I'll edit.
Anyone know anything about spiders? Comparing pictures online this might be Scytodes lugubris cause of the shape on the back but its darker than many pictures online. Anyone know? I need to know if I should be worried about infestations
So my Rosie has spent about 3 days standing on her tiptoes holding her butt in the air, as if eating, but with no food in her mouth; now she’s spent around 2 days hiding in her cave. (I owned an older Rosie in the past and she never did anything weird like this.) Is this just a weird Rosie thing or should I be expecting a molt?
