knowing the reason the Black Arms invaded Earth was for food, imagine Spider Troop showing up on the New Black Comet and just wheeling out carts of food

just setting up a whole buffet right on the Comet, including many types of meat cooked many different ways

been thinking about this and why it would be the case

now, it's entirely possible that Black Death is lying, though I find it more likely that he'd be repeating a lie from Black Doom

he gives me the vibe of loyal follower who's bought into the leader's lies, who actually believes what Doom uses as excuses and manipulation

that all being said, my only idea is that Black Arms thrive off of whatever living beings put out when scared like adrenaline

there are species that keep their prey alive longer but that's more to keep it edible longer, like a preservative; it's not a nutritional thing as far as I know

maybe they're partly vampiric and require the blood

though, since they also eat fruit, I do find it more likely that Black Doom made it up as a "this is why we have to do this" excuse

esp considering how Black Doom tried to frame it as justice or salvation in an attempt to get Shadow to join him

Eclipse is already a mirror of Shadow but Captain Andrews is kind of a mirror of Eclipse, in a way

he cares about his team, is determined to protect his kind, and dislikes those not of his kind

pls tell me their shuttle had sufficient shielding...

I've already established Cooper as having a cat

but the temptation to also have it be a black cat named Shadow

because it would be so funny

I hadcanoned Cooper having a cat but I haven't decided what it looks like or named it

I could be really silly

and name it Shadow because that is such a common cat name

be like POTC with Jack Sparrow and the monkey Jack, only the cat was named before Cooper met Shadow

Eclipse getting ready to shed

Cooper telling Eclipse she wants to try something she saw someone do with a lizard that was ready to shed

Cooper popping a straw into the shed layer and blowing, making the skin shed balloon out and pop off his fresh skin

Eclipse grumpy because he looks ridiculous but it's also kind of nice to have it just pealed off all at once and he immediately wants to do it to the Dark Arms

people tend to exaggerate, like fish tales, and things seem scarier when you're terrified

so imagine everyone else at G.U.N. finally getting to meet Eclipse and he's just a Little Guy instead of this horrifying monster from your worst nightmares that Spider Troop told everyone that he was

and now they're just making fun of Spider Troop

Eclipse doesn't like being belittled so he tries to act menacing to salvage his reputation and this just makes things worse, like when a kitten tries to threaten you
