keep the parts that make you come back

She’s getting ready to yell at people to get back when something flies through the side wall of the store hard enough to send brick and glass exploding outwards. A body hits the pavement shoulder-first. Momentum carries him directly into the side of a parked car with a violent metallic crunch. “Oh, what the fuck,” Trinity breathes, taking in the crumpled form before her in its red and blue suit.

“They don’t exactly schedule this stuff,” Trinity says. “It’s not like somebody sends a calendar invite saying, hey, giant robot attack Thursday at four.” Garcia’s mouth twitches. Carmen sighs. “I know that.” “Then what are they supposed to do? Just… not help?” OR: Trinity meets Garcia’s sister. There’s branzino.
