Something happen? appeared on his holoscreen, short and brief, just like... how he'd respond, to the same question. The uncanniness is not lost on him; it mounts and grows, a benign development, rife with the potential to turn bad at any given moment.

Hmmm...

Just as he ponders what to say, another message comes through from his variant self, spying the word curiosity straight away before taking in the rest of the message's contents. Such a trait had proven time and again to be a negative quality, simply for what it had resulted in; pain, tragedy, loss, or any combination of the three. He'd fallen sway to it himself, and paid an appropriate cost. Was this other Miguel aware? Should he warn them...?

Silence is chosen instead, a press of finger scrubbing clear the typed response of "Be careful" to replace it with "Happens to us all," without any other context given. Because he'll know what'll occur next, if it hadn't already been checked. His variant's mind will skim his gaze over the same collected data, spot the dimension one that no longer existed.

And the others like it, too, for how many of his alternative selves in different times and places made the same mistakes, challenging Canon and regretting it?

He didn't wish to give that disturbing notion much airtime, much less an estimated figure, and thus, given to similar behaviour, in place of paperwork, more screens were dragged into view, obscuring the one with the text chat open. But not before his latest round of correspondence is sent off into the ether, packed with an ominous "Don't bother looking," without making clear what exactly he was referring to.
