They play, and the others have more alcohol, and nobody even asks Virgil if he’s sure he doesn't want to join them, which he appreciates. Remus mixes himself a more diluted chocolate milk in the kiddy cup, this time mostly milk with a large splash of the alcoholic chocolate sauce, and drinks it through the silly straw.

Ichito had grieved for his Sire’s death, some two decades after they had parted ways, but had hardly been lost without him. But right now. . . Ichito covered his eyes with one hand, a soft burn throbbing behind his cheekbones - the urge to sink his fangs into something - and . . . his throat tight. What could he do, if his- his friend, his partner, his mate wished to be mortal? There was no way to go back, even if one could wish for such a mad thing - Ichito could hardly fathom - but there was also no way Ichito could hold Eito to his side if he chose. . . Ichito dropped his hand again, looking up at the sky from the shelter of the thick stone, the deep set arch of the window.

It took almost a minute for the beeping to get through Kiryuuin’s mind. He knew because it stopped almost as soon as he realised what it was. Kyan hummed against his mouth, tugging gently, encouraging him to let the kiss deepen again. Kiryuuin wanted to, so easily; he took a hitching breath, already opening for his boyfriend, catching Kyan’s lower lip between his own playfully and squirming a bit shyly. Kyan laughed, warm and light, arms already tightening around his waist, and nipped gently in return. Kiryuuin tipped his head back for a moment, catching his breath, and- ‟That- that was the tea.” he said shakily. ‟You wanted tea. To warm up.” Kiryuuin licked his lips, fingers sliding along Kyan’s jaw - he felt plenty warm, hot, to Kiryuuin now, but-

Eito was only really quiet when he was broodily upset, Ichito thought wryly, struggling not to shiver again and hugging his lover tighter. If he had been human it would likely have been too much - though Ichito rarely got so close to humans save when he fed, these days; his judgement was more of a guess - but Eito only relaxed into it with a little pleased sound. He might be sulking, but he wasn’t really in a snit. ‟But worth it?” Ichito prompted, and lifted his chin - despite it baring more of his neck again - to nuzzle a kiss to Eito’s temple once more. Eito made a deep, rumbling huffy noise, ducking his head. Ichito waited.
