March 8, 2026 - Line-cheeked Spinetail (Cranioleuca antisiensis) Found from southern Ecuador to central Peru, these birds in the ovenbird family live in mountain forests and scrub. Foraging on branches in small family groups and sometimes joining mixed-species flocks, they feed on insects, including caterpillars. They build large oval-shaped nests from moss, sticks, and other materials, often at the ends of branches overhanging hills or cliffs. Females probably lay clutches of two eggs.
