“ i know we almost died just now, but… am i the only one who’s hungry? “
Ino was glad that a short exhale through her nose was the only thing that had escaped her at his sudden declaration instead of an actual laugh as she would have definitely paid for it in her current state. Who knew that one day she'd end up grateful about being used to his antics?
Some things you really can't predict.
For instance, she hadn't predicted making it out alive after being ambushed like that but she was more than happy that she had been proven wrong as they lay on the ground trying to recover from the beating they had received. They were victorious, but that didn't mean they were unscathed by any means. She felt it everywhere.
The Yamanaka had tried to start healing them immediately after, but the fight had depleted her chakra enough that they were forced to wait it out until she could recover some of it. Nothing like having depleted chakra to make one feel totally useless. She tried not to dwell on it too much though, that wasn't going to solve anything. Instead, she'd just focused on being thankful they had made it out alive so she could hear Naruto whine about being hungry.
Truth be told, it wasn't that odd to be hungry after such a battle. Hell, the more she thought about it, the more she realized that she felt similarly.
"---Great, now you've got me thinking the same thing. Which sucks, given we're a good distance away from the closest town," the Yamanaka groaned as she thought about the trek it'd take to get there.
Forcing herself to sit up, she scooted over to the Uzumaki and gestured for him to get up as well.
"---Well, congratulations, you've sufficiently motivated me to get this show on the road. Get up, the sooner I get our injuries sorted, the sooner we can get something good to eat. Aaaaand, since you're the one that brought up, I think it's only fitting that it's your treat~"
