It was a cold, windy overcast morning in Philadelphia when I was waiting for the train to come and take me to school.  

One morning years later, I sat down to do a writing exercise called object writing where I would pick an object or experience, set a timer for 10 minutes and then write about it, including as many senses as possible: sight, sound, smell, hearing, kinesthetic touch (how things outside of your body feel) and organic touch (how things inside of your body feel.) One morning I chose to write about those experiences I had while waiting for the train years ago and that 10 minute exercise grew into this song.
