Another saying from the north of England, 'spitting feathers' can either mean 'I'm thirsty' or 'I'm angry' and based on an informal survey of friends and family, no one is ever aware that there are two potential meanings, even though everyone is from the same geographic area and about half of them understand it as 'thirsty' and the other half as 'angry'. Regional linguistic quirks are really interesting to me, I'm great at dinner parties. Anyway, I mostly wanted this on a mug for my grandmother, who absolutely uses this in the 'thirsty' sense on a regular basis, but I will admit I was darkly amused by the implications of putting it on a cat's food mat...
If it's something you want physically printed on a sticker, book or pin badge to keep handy, consider having a look over here - you get something pretty and I get a little profit, too!
And if you're super cool and just want to support more of this kind of thing without getting a tangible reward, I also have a Ko-fi!
