Where to start with this one...! The original SHARK BOY ❤️. Inspired to do Rin by @roxtus.cos ‘s Haruka Nanase, and @felishii ‘s beautiful Police Rin 😭❤️ It makes me so happy! I have been putting Rin Matsuoka (This cosplay from Free! Iwatobi Swim Club) off for so long because I was so afraid I’d mess it up...Rin is such an important character to me. (Season 2 was weird and not officially canon in my book 🤣). Rin Matsuoka experienced the ups and downs of being a competitive swimmer amongst his group of friends. The emotions he he went through after coming back as a failure and hiding that truth behind metaphorical defenses and keeping his distance from his friends out of embarrassment. I can’t recall specifically, but I could fully relate to his experiences and the feelings he was going through. I understood he was acting childish, but I also understood why. Kyoto Animation was not only beautifully animated, but the portrayal of these realistic characters and character relationships is what made me fall in love with the show. It’s not for everyone, but I’ll just tell y’all I had an extremely emotional experience watching a new episode of Free! each week. More than any show I’d ever seen! As silly as it sounds, I just wanted to hug and protect my baby Rin so badly! He was pushing away the one thing he needed and that was friends/someone to be there for him. Yes, I hardcore shipped Rin and Haru, but mostly I just love this Sharky baby boy so much and cosplaying him again reminded me of that.
