Small Product Lab Day #1
#SPLDAY1: So I have decided to focus on a design series that incorporates two African American kid designs and popular cartoon costumes. I plan on doing about 5 to 8 different designs using paper, pen, and software, then producing a downloadable product. After reading the thing Chase Reeves wrote (since I moved to Portland two days ago :)) He made me realize what I really care about. Also how to use my skills to make peoples lives better. As a African American that loves cartoons, I noticed that there are very few character that I can identify with personally. I know I am not the only one who feels this way. Since I really care about cartoons and also creating things that help people, I chose work on these purposed designs. What sets me apart from the average person in my situation is that I have a Master of Fine Arts from Oregon State. With that being said, I feel that I have the knowledge and foundation to develop this series at a very high quality. All in all. I am not trying to break the internet with my work, I am simply creating something that children, young adults, and older folks can enjoy, make into stickers, and turn into prints. I am excited to get to work on this over the next 10 days.
