Your muse walks in on mine singing. Send me a “♬” to know which song it is.
She was stacking books in the lair, a lovely Sunday afternoon where she had the entire day to herself instead of slaving over a desk and at a computer. She had decided to spend it with her family instead, cleaning and tidying things, learning more about each member of it with each second she moved.
She hummed quietly to her phone - the only expensive device she allowed herself. It was playing gentle orchestral music from the back pocket of her jeans as she stretched high to place a book on the top shelf, though she started to sing along to it, “I’ve heard it said… That people come into our lives, for.. A reason.. Bringing something we must learn. And we are lead… To those who help us most to grow. If.. We let them. And we help them in return. Well, I don’t know if I.. Believe that’s true.. But I know I’m who I am today.. Because.. I knew you… Like a comet pulled from orbit, as it passes the sun. Like a stream that meets a boulder.. Halfway through the wood. Who can say, if I’ve been changed for the better… Because… I knew you. I have been changed… For good…”
She managed to turn around, tying her hair back into a sloppy ponytail as she hummed and had her ponytail holder between her teeth. She stopped when she spotted Yoshi standing there, flushing darkly as she cast her eyes to the side, “W… How long have you been standing there?”
She hadn’t even sensed his presence there! It was infuriating that when she finally did let her guard down, there he was. Little - er - big sneak.
