Split River used to be Split Water and the high school used to be a church. Then a flood destroyed the church and killed many people in there and also in town. And so I think that the nurse is there to help them leave and cross over but they’re trapped because the church doesn’t exist anymore and the town’s name is different now. And I also think that the nurse needs more power to help them cross over and to gain power she probably needs powers like an energy, so the trapped spirits in Split River make sure some people have accidents so they can trap other souls with them and use their energy to obtain power. And I also think, their power they already have is probably due to another huge spirit, like maybe an evil one. I mean, the power is from the high school the old church, so maybe back then there was a satanic cult or something like that and that would explain why they have some powers that the other spirits don’t have like making the other spirits visible to the living people.
