The King and Queen of Attolia are Twin Flames

I was hesitant about ever putting this thought on a public platform because the concept of twin flames is so misunderstood that I am afraid mentioning it would just add to the mountain of increasing distortion around it on the internet. It is a spiritual path that I wish to protect the sanctity of closely.

Maybe the terminology was never something that crossed MWT’s mind anyway. Perhaps it’s something that only matters to me and my projection of myself through literature and so it’s inconsequential.

Eugenides and Irene are the spitting image of twin souls / twin flames / split souls. 

Not to be confused with regular soul mates. Twin flames are the opposite of soul mates. (while still being the highest form of soul mate in existence). 

In beautiful juxtaposition, Sophos and Helen are quintessentially soul mates. Soul mate relationships start in the 3D to the 5D (earth level to soul level recognition) Twin flame relationships start in the 5D and trickle down into the 3D (soul level to earth level). Which explains why Attolia and Eugenides “felt each other” and reacted to their feelings to each other without being consciously aware of each other or consciously in love with each other:

Like how there are at least 3 scenes where Irene is raging at the gods/Moira early in QoA and the true reason she chooses not to worship them is actually in defense of Eugenides because she “feels” their “betrayal” of him before it happens (and isn’t awake/aware enough to see the big picture around its necessity)

There’s always one twin that’s conscious of their love/connection early on (how Eugenides has loved her since forever, long before he ever interactions with her-- one glimpse of her-- and he saw instantly into the depths of her soul and her truth beneath all the layers of walls and stone masks... it just takes an instant for the conscious twin... and even before a physical meeting... we feel our twins inside us like a second heartbeat...

And ultimately, its a love so powerful and strong and unconditional that it has to come from the heavens and nothing earthly because it transcends the greatest of bodily harm and damage and loathing and hatred and anguish and fear....... She tortures him and shatters him within inches of his will to live (there is a moment in QoA where Eugenides essentially asks for assistance with suicide:

“Do you imagine I am going to pour a cup of lethium down your throat and let you go?” Galen asked finally.

“I’d appreciate it,” Eugenides said. 

Takes everything from him and it only multiplies his love for her. The more she hurts him, the more compassionately he absorbs and eventually heals her fear and pain.

That’s Divine Love. That’s Twin Flame Love. One soul split into two bodies. How they’re always connected. How their earthly separation is a chasm so vast and insurmountable that only other true twin flames can imagine it for themselves. And those who are not, who have more typical soul mate connections on earth can be inspired by, but not quite imagine embodying it for themselves...

I have so much more to say about this but I’m going to stop for now bc Tumblr is being so slow and it’s time for bed.
