ok I bit off a lil more than I could chew on this one by picking a 6-way parallel, so proabably skipping the last 2 days that I'm already late for

BUT this is my absolute favorite parallel ever since I noticed how much Attolia likes to touch gen's face 🤔 6 times specifically during QoA, as shown above... it's less romantic and more like a power move on her part but i love it so much

Queen's Thief Appreciation, Day 2: The Queen of Attolia -- the books/characters as things my friends and I have said

One of the major twists for me was the complete transformation of my opinion of Attolia Irene. I started rooting for her ever since we got her background story, and by the time "Diplomacy, in my own name" rolled around, I was fully infatuated.

Day 6: Return of the Thief Day

Been thinking about this crest for a really long time now! Solved the imbalance of the gryphon having wings by putting an olive branch beside the lion (which I now realize is probably supposed to be a mountain lion...er...whoops). Also gave the two animals a crown (annux) to support so they weren't pointing their claws at each other.

As for the lilies, I was looking for old ways of depicting lilies and found this which is great because it doubles now as three minor crowns (basileis) and a dagger. Finally, the border around symbolizes the seas, the flatlands, and the mountains.

Really happy with how this turned out!

Click for quality because Tumblr cronched down on it hard. It’s not the best drawing you’ve ever seen, but I’m proud of it, so there’s that.

It’s Queen’s Thief Appreciation week, so I dug around for some Queen of Attolia fanart I drew 2 years ago that I never had the confidence to post!

Looking back, it’s insane seeing how crazy I got with the details and references in the background, and it’s pretty sad I’ve kept it hidden this long with no one to play TQoA Reference Bingo with it.

The Queen’s Thief series was my favorite series in high school. It’s like War and Peace for middle-grade kids, and how MWT writes her characters and their personal/political intrigues is amazing. She also balances the politics and magic of her world greatly. If you haven’t checked it out, I’d gladly recommend this series.
