Random Assortment of Sams in Supernatural Season 11 . . .
Do you ever think about what an insane run of episodes was in season 11? First we got Safe House (11x16), where the entire episode there were comparisons of Bobby and Rufus (just friends) and Dean and Sam (not even more than friends, but rather more than brothers) working on the same case and experiencing the same threats to life, to which we received two very different reactions:
Then we got Red Meat (11x17), which can practically be considered the bible of Wincest and it had such amazing comparisons as: Dean treating Sam's wound - Corbin treating Michelle's wrists
Corbin helping Michelle stay on her feet - Dean helping Sam stay on his feet
(not to mention the entire episode, we literally got a comparison not only to a romantic couple, but to Romeo and Juliet) And then there was The Chitters (11x19), where not only did Dean himself compare his relationship with Sam to a married gay couple, but we also got this super telling shot at the end:
Whoever wrote those episodes were on a mission and I'm forever grateful to them for this.

Fun Fact: Sam says "I'm getting too old for this," and per Super-wiki, ""I'm getting too old for this." is the famous catch phrase from Danny Glover's character Roger Murtaugh in the Lethal Weapon series. "Agent Murtaugh" happens to be Rufus's alias in this episode, and in 5.02 Good God, Y'all he made the same reference."

Ever since Lucifer disappeared in Cas’s vessel, Dean has been depressed and moody. Every episode since, Sam has to keep assuring Dean “we’ll get him back” or “we’ll find him”. But it’s obvious that Dean’s mood and sullenness has more to do with not knowing where Cas is than it does Amara.
Not a lot of thoughts on 11x16 "Safe House":
Great episode - great writing, great directing.
I missed Rufus. Need him back 😔
Monster finally looks like a monster and not like just a guy.
We see two families of victims in this episode. In the past, family is hetero couple and their son. In the present, family is a lesbian couple and their daughter. Very cute detail.
Funny how Bobby worrying about Dean and Sam and Rufus distracting him with the case is directly paralleled by Dean worrying about Cas and Sam distracting him with the case. In limbo, Bobby sees dead bodies of Sam and Dean. And yet, Dean sees dead body of Sam, not Cas, even though it makes no sense for him to worry about Sam rn. Most likely it can be explained by budget restriction and them not being able to afford Misha to play a dead body, still bothers me though.
